Stone Cold Reax - 9/7/15, Diva taking time off, new matches for ROH PPV, Divas in bar fight (?), NXT title match set for live event, fan interrupts Raw, GFW in Texas notes, GFW in Texas notes, Interview with Kana, big Angle update, and Questions on NXT vs. the main roster, Jimmy Snuka, and putting Flair with Cesaro

Stone Cold podcast:
Asheville is similar to Seattle and Portland (or so I'm told).

I wish Edge had passed the torch more when he was a wrestler, but his injury ended that.

Kurt Angle with the ukelele was one of my all-time favorite wrestling skits.

The Attitude Era was pretty fun. I think the kind of humor that's not forced is missing in some performers in 2015. On that note, I miss Santino and 3MB.

Tag team basics are REALLY lost on a lot of teams, especially outside WWE.

Harper is definitely awesome.

Wilder and Dawson are really growing on me, too.

They were totally both wrestlers AND sports entertainers. Same for Austin.

Having psychology is even important in a car crash match if it's going to stand the test of time. How many X-Division gimmick matches stand out?

Sometimes there need to be matches people aren't talking about as much to build things for other parts of the show and to get the talent involved to a new level.

It was great to have a veteran like Gangrel help them out. That's missing to a degree now.

Absolutely Christian should be in the Hall of Fame.

Michael Hayes and the Freebirds are glaring omissions in the HoF. I hope that's remedied in 2016.

Hayes is a smart guy.

Vince would probably hate Asheville haha. I do think part of him would be much happier retired.

The exit strategy is important for any walk of life, especially when fame and big money are involved.

Nice closing thoughts from E&C. Great interview overall.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Cameron is taking some time off the road from WWE live events. After being left out of the Divas Revolution angle, I wonder where she fits into things going forward. If her contract's coming up soon, they might just let it run out if they don't have any use for her. Then again, how long has Rosa Mendes been there? I suspect we'll know more if there's a Season 5 of Total Divas.

Silas Young vs. Dalton Castle is official for ROH's All-Star Extravaganza. If Young wins, he gets Castle's Young Boys. If Castle wins, Young has to become a Young Boy himself. This has actually been built pretty well by ROH standards and might be worth investing in.

Update: Moose vs. Cedric Alexander in a no-DQ match is also set for the show. That could be worth watching. It's good to have some variety from all the flippy shit.

Paige and Alicia Fox were part of an altercation in a bar before Raw. There's a pretty decent chance this is a work for "Total Divas." We'll see. If it isn't, I'm pretty disappointed in them. If it is a work, I think I'm more disappointed in WWE or the production company for putting them in such a position to hurt their reputations. Especially for a publicly-traded company!

Bayley vs. Dana Brooke for the NXT Women's Championship is set for an NXT live event in Texas, so that could be the next feud for the title. I expect Bayley vs. Nia Jax to happen as well. And probably Emma, too. I'm looking forward to seeing how things pan out with Charlotte, Becky, and Sasha on the main roster.

A fan jumped the railing during one of Seth Rollins' entrances during Raw, and was briefly seen on camera. This was removed from the replay. Fan behavior has really gotten out of control. I don't know if it's this generation's desire to be the center of attention or what it is, but something really needs to change. That fan should be banned from attending future WWE events and/or fined heavily. This behavior should not be endorsed.

GFW postponed touring Texas until 2016 due to Jeff Jarrett needing to be in London during the original time frame. Some talents were also unable to make the show due to other commitments in their more regular promotion, and there was the potential of having to compete with shows from ROH, NXT, and WWE in a fairly small window. I think they probably made the right call. It's going to be tough doing things with talents who are primarily part of other companies, although I like the old school territory idea.

Kana discussed making the jump from Japan to NXT. I'm excited for her future. There are definitely some great potential opponents for her.

Kurt Angle confirmed in a recent interview he will not be re-signing with TNA when his contract expires in January. He will be taking at least some time off from the business at that point. More on this in tomorrow's news post. It's unknown if he'll be part of the company's UK shows that month. If so, those would be his last dates there for the time being. Honestly, he's given the company and the industry as a whole more than enough. It's time for him to go off into the sunset. If he doesn't come back to the ring for TNA in 2016, I really wonder what's left for them. They're already shaky as a "major promotion," and that would give their detractors more ammo.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I'm always confused when someone who's covered the business so long doesn't get why it isn't that easy. NXT was one hour once a week, and the Divas were part of a relatively small roster. Plus, the NXT audience is the more hardcore audience who's able to sit through long wrestling matches and be excited for them. The main roster shows have a LOT more to get over and more time to fill. The Divas just aren't going to get that level of focus. Plus, when there are (say) nine Divas fighting for the spotlight instead of three or four, and they all have to share the "Divas timeslot," things are going to be hectic. NXT is taped all at once and thus they aren't rewriting things every week to shift gears. WWE can definitely improve things, but to expect the main roster to be like NXT is probably unrealistic given the two different audiences.

2. WWE doesn't want to have any associations with anything that could hurt their "Disney" image and bottom line. It's 2015, not the early '90s. The company has changed.

3. I think she'll probably stay about where she is, but from here on out she'll almost definitely be "Tamina, the member of B.A.D." instead of Jimmy Snuka's daughter.

4. NXT is HHH's baby, and somewhat under the radar compared to the main product since it isn't on TV in the U.S.. I'm guessing he doesn't have to deal with as many "suits" with NXT. I think we'll see things be more like NXT in some ways, but I don't see any drastic, sudden changes as long as the culture that's already been established is still kicking. In other words, we could see more in the vein of Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens, but I don't think we'll stop seeing people like John Cena, Sheamus, etc.. I'm really interested to see what Stephanie's influence will be in "balancing out" how HHH does things. He might be an old-school wrestling guy, but I imagine she's more in the line of "sports entertainment" "we're like Disney," etc..

5. Flair's great and all, but I don't know if he'd be the right fit to pair with Cesaro. And having Flair on the road again full-time might not be the best idea. I think we need some new managers for this kind of thing, and someone more fitting for Cesaro.

More wrestling tomorrow.
