Next two Summerslams set, TE competitor update, DX member hurt, Interviews with Nikki/Backlund, Wellness suspension, WWE security update, WWE guests, and Questions on Cena beating Rollins, replacing Vince, a new brand extenstion, WWE using older wrestlers, and the Real Americans in ROH

WWE has announced that Summerslam in both 2016 and 2017 will be in Brooklyn, NY. They'll continue the theme from this year with an NXT show the night before Summerslam and Raw the night after all coming from the same building. That's really big news!

Update: here's WWE's official announcement.

Tough Enough's Tanner has decided to focus on MMA full-time, but has not ruled out returning to wrestling down the line. How many people from Tough Enough's however many seasons actually came back to the ring after losing?

Scott Waltman was hospitalized after tearing several muscles. I hope he pulls through.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Here's the updated lineup for Sunday's Bound for Glory PPV:
- TNA World Heavyweight Championship: Ethan Carter III vs. Drew Galloway (Special referee: Jeff Hardy).
- Kurt Angle vs. Eric Young
- TNA Knockouts Championship: Gail Kim vs. Awesome Kong
- TNA Tag Team Championship: The Wolves vs. Brian Myers and Trevor Lee.
- Ultimate X match for the TNA X-Division Championship

Not a bad card, really.

Update: The company later announced a "Bound For Gold" gauntlet to determine who gets a future World Title shot. The match features Abyss, Mr. Anderson, Mahabali Shera, Tyrus, Robbie E, Jessie Godderz, Eli Drake, Chris Melendez, and Aiden O'Shea (formerly Jay Bradley). They could throw us a curve and have someone else enter and win (Hernandez? Crimson?), or they could go with Tyrus to build tension with EC3.

Here are highlights of a recent Nikki Bella interview:
- I don't think she got the title JUST because of her boyfriend. It was also because of being the centerpiece of "Total Divas" and Johnny Ace. To be clear, the Bellas do have abilities in the ring. It's just the old saying about a 7 being pushed like a 10.

- The "Total Divas" cast got plenty of TV time when AJ was champion, a lot of times just because "Total Divas" was a thing.

- The "Total Divas" did get to speak back, actually. Some of it apparently got cut, but they definitely got to respond to what AJ said.

- I think there was always something of a perception the Bellas were just signed because they were athletic, attractive tweets. It goes back much further than "Total Divas."

- I think the final stages of Charlotte's quest for the title were good. The match itself told one hell of a story of the challenger powering through an injury to win.

- I do give Brie and Nikki credit for busting their humps to improve. They really aren't bad wrestlers. We just see too much of them.

WWE suspended Hornswoggle for a violation of the Wellness Policy. I didn't even know he was still at shows beyond the tapings they did for Swerved. It's not like he's going to be pulled from a big push or anything. I hope he kicks whatever funk he's in if he wants to stay in WWE. This was the first Wellness suspension in more than two years.

WWE has increased security at live events. As they should!

JR spoke with Bob Backlund about his new autobiography. Backlund was awesome.

Lance Storm and Cyrus will be at WWE's live event in MSG to celebrate Chris Jericho's 25th anniversary in the business. Jericho's had one hell of a legacy.

Lita and Rosa Mendes were backstage at Raw. I wouldn't be surprised if Mendes retires after having her baby. She's had a pretty lengthy run, and it's not like she was really doing much before she left.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. It made sense to headline the show with the WWE Title match featuring the legend, and it led to Sheamus' attempted cash-in and Kane's return. Had Cena taken the U.S. Title from Rollins in the main event, people would complain about that, too. That said, they do put too many eggs in the Cena basket and it's rare for him to truly face odds he might not overcome. It's fine for the hero to eventually prevail most of the time, but they need to really be put in jeopardy for the story to be good. Cena rarely feels like a true underdog.

2. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are set to more or less take over Vince's duties. I expect some other top executives to have pull as well.

3. I don't see them risking depriving either brand of important names. I do think it would cut back the effects of talents being overexposed if we didn't see so much of them every week. The brand extension might be too broad of a solution for that. Either way, I don't see it happening anytime soon.

4. It definitely should. They've got to be careful with that kind of thing. It makes me wonder how much longer the people in their forties have left, and how much more WWE will push them. WWE likes the name value and veteran instincts of certain stars, but time eventually takes its toll on everyone.

5. I think they'd get over great with the ROH audience as long as they could remain physical. I'd love to see Cesaro, Swagger, and Zeb used well and make money on any televised wrestling entity.

More wrestling tomorrow.
