The Superstar Shakeup continued with Smackdown Live getting Heavy Machinery from free agency. Nikki Cross remains unaffiliated; I hope she can make a niche for herself.

Ali spoke to TV Insider about his background and more. Good advice from Xavier.

MLW's May 4 episode will be executive produced by Salina de la Renta, making her the first Latina to produce wrestling for a nationally-broadcast promotion. This episode, of course, will air the night before Cinco de Mayo.

ROH backstage staff member Christina Meyers has left the company following Masters of the Craft. She headed up customer service and did significant logistical work for the promotion, so her absence will be noticed.

ROH has new action figures in production. Marty Scurll, Bandido, and Mandy Leon seem to be early choices.

Cedric Alexander had a farewell reception from the 205 Live locker room.

Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan said goodbye to The Riott Squad after Liv moved from Raw to Smackdown Live.

Smackdown Live will run a live event in Utah on June 16.

The Shield will be interviewed at Friday's Raw live event ahead of their final match Sunday. I assume that content will be on WWE Network at some point.

Madame Tussauds Hollywood and Championship Wrestling From Hollywood are teaming for a live May 5 lucha event. Psychosis and Puma King will join the CWFH roster at the show. I can't say I ever expected to write that story!

NXT stars worked with Cirque du Soleil. That's a clever idea to shake up the usual training.

The ROH/NJPW War of the Worlds tour will feature three HonorClub events (May 8 in New York, May 9 in Ontario, and May 11 in Michigan) leading to a TV taping on May 12 in Illinois.

John Cena is being considered for a part in Suicide Squad 2, likely replacing Batista in the project. That could definitely be a top role for him.

Fight for The Fallen has added Kenny Omega vs. CIMA and Brandi Rhodes vs. Allie. AEW is really putting things together in advance. I like it.

Double or Nothing's Over The Budget Battle Royal has added MJF and Sunny Daze. I could see MJF winning that.

Jim Ross and Conrad Thompson's new podcast is still in limbo for now. Ross had Thompson and Cody on The Jim Ross Report this week.

Daniel Bryan and Sheamus have been off TV due to unspecified injuries. Hopefully both men can return soon. Bryan was really doing great work since his heel turn.

The Viking Experience were at one point going to debut on Raw as The Berzerkers. That's actually even worse than the name they ended up with. I don't have high hopes for the team with this change; it looks like they're considered a duo of characters rather than a dominant force.

The student who attempted an RKO on his principal has been arrested a second time after wrestling a plastic alligator in a mall. He obviously needs something constructive to do with his energy.

Smackdown Live drew 2.22 million viewers Tuesday night, very similar to the previous week. WWE has a lot of work to do getting fans back into things.

Ricochet is raising money to help his mother after a house fire. That's rough. I hope they can move forward.

Randy Orton's tattoo lawsuit is going to trial in April 2020 after settlement talks failed and the original judge retired. That's a long time to wait for justice.

The WWE Performance Center has officially welcomed Shane Strickland, Humberto Garza (Garza, Jr.), and Kushida. Those signings had been expected for a while. All three have impressive pedigrees. I expect Garza will get a new name to avoid confusion with Humberto Carrillo. Or of course Carrillo can drop his first name like so many others do!

The Superstar Shakeup has affected planned lineups for Smackdown Live live event on April 29 and a Raw live event on May 6, so it looks like this weekend will be the final events with the pre-Shakeup rosters.

Impact's Gursinder Singh has asked for, and seemingly been granted, his release from the company. He last wrestled there in September, and his since been more or less replaced by Raj Singh in the Desi Hit Squad. I'm curious what his next steps are.

Stevie Ray is on Chris Jericho's latest podcast.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I chalk it up, at least partially, to the rise of NXT and the type of superstar being recruited since Triple H took over that end of the company. NXT fans see that product (and, to a degree, non-WWE wrestling products with similar talents) and want Raw and Smackdown Live to fit that vision. So, they're frustrated it's not in line with the other wrestling products they like, especially after so many talents they like are signed and not utilized in a way consistent with what made fans like them in the first place! There continues to be hope Vince will step aside and let Triple H and others change things, but of course WWE isn't a democracy.

2. There's speculation Ronda losing by a surprise pinfall was done to leave the door open for an eventual rematch.

3. Just be glad he hasn't lost his last name yet! I absolutely think WWE needs to do a better job of introducing talents to Raw and Smackdown Live, with vignettes and such leading to debuts. While obviously the athleticism of the NXT names are off the charts, casual fans want characters and angles they can care about. Wrestlers feel more significant when we're given time to anticipate their debuts and we get teasers of what they're capable of. But Vince has five hours of live TV this week

4. Kevin Owens was set to return and be put in that spot after more weeks of vignettes. Instead, he was rushed back to Fast Lane so WWE could do Bryan vs. Kofi at WrestleMania.

5. The issue was with SportsCenter only acknowledging her lineage instead of her considerable accolades. As for her character, some of that is out of her control. WWE understandably wants to link her to her father, and they make it clear where she came from!

More wrestling tomorrow.
