G1 Supercard Reax

Read on for my thoughts on last night's ROH and NJPW special event.
-- Pre-show:
- Honor Rumble:
- No. 1 and No. 2:
Ha. King vs. king.

Funny start.

- No. 3 and 4:
This is definitely the "get everyone on the card" match.

- No. 5:
Haven't seen him here in a while!

- No. 6, No. 7, and No. 8:
A lot of NJPW representation here.

Definitely some wild combinations here.

- No. 9, No. 10, and No. 11:
A whole bunch of nothing here. If this was my first experience with ROH, I wouldn't be convinced to buy the main show.

- No. 12:
Oh, Japan. Stay wacky.

- No. 13:
"Best wrestling on the planet."

- No. 14:
Finally someone who matters.

- No. 15:
OK this is picking up now.

I did love the clothesline spot.

- No. 16:
Finally a monster.

- No. 17:
NICE elimination spot from Fale.

Burger pulling a Kofi.

- No. 18 and No. 19:
Ooooh Tracy vs. Suzuki.

- No. 20 and 21:
I'd be fine with PJ winning.

- No. 22:
Insane that it took this long for him to get to MSG.

Definitely didn't expect him to eliminate Milonas.

- No. 23 and No. 24:
Oh.... Well.....

- No. 25:
Eeeeeggggghhhhhh.

- No. 26:
Oh I'm all for him killing some of these goofs.

- No. 27:
Hahahahahahaha Yano with the sub.

- No. 28:
Another meaningful name.

- No. 29:
OH SHIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTT

Fun work with Yano and Colt.

- No. 30:
OOHHHH MY GOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDD that's fucking cool.

I enjoyed the Colt/Yano stuff.

Cool battle between Ishii and Suzuki.

I'm glad Haku wasn't able to beat both Kingdom guys.

This is a pretty surreal final four.

I'm watching The Great Muta vs. Jushin Liger in 2019. What is life?

The right choice to win.

- Post-match:
No respect for the Honor Rumble winner!

- Bruiser ad:
Well that's a thing.

-- G1 Supercard:
- Cobb vs. Ospreay:
Now that's how you start a match hot!

This is pretty fun and innovative.

Ospreay's offense is unreal.

Both men are real prospects.

I'm loving the back and forth. Both men look good.

Ospreay looks invincible.

That was pretty badass!

- RUSH vs. Castle:
Wow. Wow. That's how you make a splash in MSG.

- Post-match:
Ha. Might as well turn heel. His momentum's really deflated.

- Juice laid out:
Oh no. Probably means we're in for a long Bully segment.

- Mayu vs. Klein:
Smooth work early.

This is an interesting combination.

Mayu is really solid.

This is nice!

Wow. Nice win for Kelly.

- Post-match:
Oh God Whaaaaaaaaat is this garbage.

Wow. They really want to kill any momentum WOH had, huh?

Yeah this pretty much buried any interest I had in WOH. I hope Tennille bails to AEW and this project gets shuttered.

- Mega Ran/Bully:
But we just did this last month? They took Juice out for this??????

- Bully street fight:
OH! I guess that's a nice surprise!!

Unsurprisingly Flip didn't get much momentum before being attacked.

So wait is this a six-man now? Is this even a match?

Definitely an interesting mix here.

Flip's taking a lot of punishment here!

Maybe this is the end of the Bully storyline after all?

This is fun for what it is.

Ha. Of course Bully gets to put someone through a table in MSG.

I'm liking all the crazy anarchy here.

OK, the wazzup headbutt popped me.

Fun for what it was designed to be, and this would be a great way to end Bully's tenure.

- Taiji vs. Lee vs. Bandido:
Another pretty hot start.

Now they're just showing off!

Everyone looks game here. I love it.

This is really badass.

OH MY GOD THAT MOONSAULT SLAM.

Ahhhhh that was a lot of fun. I wish it would have gone a little longer.

- PCO/Brody vs. GoD vs. Briscoes vs. SANADA/EVIL:
I'm loving the energy in this one.

Very impressed with Brody here.

Pretty wild mix of styles. I'm enjoying it.

OH MY FUCKING GOD THAT POWERBOMB.

Wowwwwwwwwww. Another really impressive match.

- Post-match:
I guess this is something that will play out in NJPW.

- ZSJ vs. Hiroshi:
I love ZSJ's style.

These two work together well.

This is great!

This is very smooth. Both men look like stars.

That was a LOT of fun. Worth checking out.

- Naito vs. Ibushi:
I love the mind games.

Solid so far.

Good drama here.

Another strong match where both sides look good.

This feels BIG.

Really badass. NJPW is stealing this show.

- Lethal vs. Scurll vs. Taven:
Good start.

Nice carnage.

Wow. This is pretty intense.

They're definitely going hard.

Jesus that ladder powerbomb.

This definitely feels like another important match.

Everyone's delivering in this one.

Jesus Jay your opponents aren't in the crowd.

This is REALLY badass.

I do like Taven's purple ladder.

Damn. MSG can hold a lot of ladders!

That was great! I'm cautiously optimistic about Taven as champion; he's finally growing on me.

- White vs. Okada:
Oh. Looks like White is that kind of champion.

Yeah. Kind of a slow followup to the ladder carnage.

OK now things are heating up.

WHOA. Cool crossbody spot.

Now this is getting good.

This is pretty solid, although the heel shenanigans are taking away from it.

Damn. Two Rainmakers can't do it?

Haha they're doing everything to keep the title on White.

Damn. Pretty good ending sequence.
