Dynamite Reax - 1/8/20

Read on for my thoughts on last night's Dynamite.

- Omega/Page vs. Party:
I'm already bored with AEW's tag team style.

I can't care about any of this. Every flashy wrestler is blending together.

The moves are impressive at least.

OK I did like the V Trigger/Snapdragon spot.

I liked the buckshot lariat spot, too.

This is heating up well now.

That was quite good.

- Pac/Nakazawa:
Works for me!

- Announcer switch:
AEW has done a lot of changing around at the announce desk, even if you don't include Dark.

- Riho vs. Statlander:
These two work together well.

Just a matter of time before interference happens.

Hahah right back to the wacky overkill people hated with the Dark Order. Yeah Matt Hardy will fit right in here.

The match itself is solid. It's just secondary. Remember when AEW was going to be "Sportslike" and not have as much sports entertainment gaga?

Not bad. Just too much going on.

- Post-match:
Women's clustermess incoming.

I did like how everything fit together.

- Daniels vs. Guevara:
Sammy is a MUCH better heel than MJF.

Good back and forth here.

I like the story in this one.

Good work.

- Post-match:
Interesting followup to the angle. We'll see what the future holds for the Dark Order.

- Lucha Bros vs. Cody/Dustin:
Solid enough so far.

I like how these names work together.

There's a nice story here.

That was nice!

- Post-match:
Yeah we're a long way from Revolution so they've got to pad the story out.

- Poffo interview:
A little surprised that wasn't televised, but I don't think I mind having other content instead.

- MJF/DDP:
Yeah this act is another one that should have stayed in the indies, but it pays to be a friend of the EVPs.

Page is fun here.

Oh yeah I remember The Butcher and The Blade!

That was mostly solid, thanks almost entirely to DDP.

- Jurassic Express vs. Friends/OC:
More indie shit.

Fun for what it is. It just feels like all of AEW is off-the-wall, niche content. But clearly that's resonating with a pretty significant number of people.

- Circle/Moxley:
Chriiiiiiiist Jericho's shtick is played out. And this is the guy who says he's always reinventing himself.

Moxley is at least fun here.

It was what it was. Honestly that same segment could have been done on Raw and fans would have panned it.

More wrestling coming up.
