WK14 notes, Japanese name continues to hint at WWE future, NJPW moves Climax dates, top WWE names at CES, Shinsuke tributes Liger, another Dusty match on NXT, EVOLVE signings, and Questions on Corbin's ability to get heat, whether the XFL will outlast AEW, Vince's non-PG tastes, AEW using the Rhodes name, and whether Sonya should be in Liv's spot

At Wrestle Kingdom 14 Night Two:
- Jushin "Thunder" Liger and Naoki Sano lost to Hiromu Takahashi and Ryu Lee in Liger's final match. Liger thanked the crowd after the match, with all three men showing him respect.
- Jon Moxley retained the United States Championship against Juice Robinson. He was attacked by Minoru Suzuki after the match, who indicated he wanted a title shot.
- Kenta lost the NEVER Openweight Championship to Hirooki Goto.
- Chris Jericho defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi, so there won't be an AEW World Championship match between those two.
- Tetsuya Naito defeated Kazuchika Okada to win the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. His Intercontinental Championship was also on the line. Kenta attacked him after the match, so it looks like he's going after one or both championships.
- NJPW announced paid attendance of 30,000. For a second night, that's very impressive given how past shows haven been quite shy of that number.

Japan's Sareee announced she's moving to the US in February. She's expected to work for WWE afterward. Sareee lost the World Woman Pro Wrestling Diana World Championship on January 4, setting the stage for her next moves.

NJPW's G1 Climax is being moved to October 2020 due to the Olympics.

Stephanie McMahon, George A. Barrios, Becky Lynch, and Kofi Kingston will be at CES 2020 on behalf of WWE.

Shinsuke Nakamura paid tribute to Jushin "Thunder" Liger at a live event. We're really seeing the end of an era.

NXT has added Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish vs. Wolfgang and Mark Coffey in a Dusty Classic match

EVOLVE has signed Liam Gray and Adrian Alanis.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Corbin definitely has carved a niche for himself as someone who genuinely gets negative attention from fans. Hopefully he can continue to translate that in a meaningful way.

2. That's really going to depend on which party is able to get others to pay for the rights to broadcast their content long-term. Right now, AEW is at a clear advantage while the XFL is a very unknown quantity. Let's see what things look like when their season starts.

3. I think Vince the businessman prefers family-friendly content, but Vince personally enjoys some of the Katie Vick/genetic jackhammer stuff, particularly when he can take part. As for the storylines mentioned, while obviously Vince approves everything, I believe the Mandy/Usos thing was designed to tie in to WWE reality shows and the Lana angle is very much a Heyman direction.

4. Very clever on their part! For anyone wondering, Dustin's safe since he used that name before WWE and Brandi was never "Brandi Rhodes" in WWE, but Cody first used the name Cody Rhodes in WWE, so they own it. Yeah, it sucks for Cody, but those are the rules and I wouldn't expect WWE to give him the rights.

5. I definitely see the argument that an openly lesbian wrestler should be the one in such an angle. I think the counter is that Sonya already has a regular role on Smackdown, while Liv wasn't doing anything, so it made sense to give her something to do. There's also the question of whether a lesbian performer should "have" to be in this role and if it would have been worse to use Sonya's sexuality for shock value.

More wrestling tomorrow.
