Main Event Reax - 1/9/12, live event returns, TNA releases, Raw audience, Interviews with Cena/Foley/Dreamer/Lynn/Matt Hardy , Y2J vs. Superstar, big indie name to WWE, WWE tryouts, Gut Check expands, NXT live event cancelled, why WWE spoils, Gut Check competitor, and Questions on Vince's clothes, a new WWE Champonship, and HBK vs. Hogan

Main Event:
I liked Sheamus' promo ok. It feels more and more like he's going for that Cena spot as top face.

Underwhelming promo from Big E. Maybe AJ should do the talking and he can do the smashing of people.

Sheamus vs. Ziggler DELIVERED. Ziggler can be a major player in 2013. He puts in his all every night. Sheamus showed why he's a main event act. I hope he stays there as his only drawback is is his goofy promos. I liked the ending to protect Ziggler but keep Sheamus and the Brogue Kick strong.

Good post-match. I hope Big E can "go" in the ring past squash matches as he has the size to make a mark.

I liked Barrett vs. Ryder a lot as well. Ryder showed that he's no pushover and Barrett's momentum continued. Both guys look to have good futures IF WWE doesn't get finicky.

C.M. Punk and R-Truth are scheduled to return on the upcoming live event tour. Glad both are back in action.

Sarita and Rosita have not been re-signed by TNA, ending their tenure there for the time being. It's a shame that we didn't see more of them. As was the case with Dinero, they hadn't been used in so long that this wasn't a surprising move. I hope TNA has some talented performers in waiting to fill those spots.

Despite competition from the BCS Championship game, Raw brought in 4.42 million viewers. That's their highest number since August. As much as I'd like to credit most of that to the TLC match, a lot of those viewers were there for The Rock. Hopefully some of them will stick around to watch the full-time crew.

Fuse TV talked with John Cena and others about WrestleMania XXIX and music.

"Superstar" Billy Graham and Chris Jericho exchanged words on C.M. Punk's promo from Raw. I side with Jericho here. That was Punk speaking in-character, not WWE Management dissing Bruno.

Mick Foley talked about the WWE Hall of Fame in an interview for his comedy shows.

WWE has signed top independent star El Generico. He's 28, speaks multiple languages, and has 8 years of experience. You can't ask for a much better resume than that. The company is interested in signing a number of other names as well. I'm very impressed with the line-up that has been signed and brought up since Triple H took over for VP of Talent Relations and VP of New Talent Development. The future of wrestling looks good. Of course, all the good signings and call-ups in the world won't do much if they're all made to look as secondary to the same group of main eventers.

The WWE locker room was said to be impressed with C.M. Punk's promo. It wouldn't surprise me if many felt like he does.

WWE will be evaluating a number of potential new talents in Florida next month. Both major companies should always be on the lookout for some new pick-ups. They could find some future champions there. Of course, they could also find the next Nick Rogers and waste their time and money on someone they won't be using for much of anything.

TNA is expanding Gut Check, which will return on the 1/10 Impact. Now two unsigned talents will face off and the judges will evaluate both of them. We could see a lot of signings over the course of the year if that concept sticks. I hope there's more from where Christian York and Joey Ryan came from. TNA's doing some building for the future there. I like it.

The NXT house show on 1/18 has been cancelled. That's a shame. Those are valuable places for the stars of the future to work on their craft on their way to the main roster.

PWInsiderTV has some new interviews.

WWE is spoiling title changes because they'd rather you get the scoop from them than a wrestling news site. It drives traffic to the site. It's hard to argue on those grounds, but what about fans who follow WWE on Twitter but not news sites and see the spoiler?

Former WWE star Jay Bradley, known as Ryan Braddock during his time there, will compete on the 1/10 Gut Check. I wish him luck!

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I usually don't pay that much attention to what someone's wearing. Vince has more important things to worry about than clothes shopping!

2. They had the perfect opportunity to change the title when he passed Cena's reign, but maybe they're saving it for when Rock wins the title or WrestleMania. I know the current design is popular with the little Jimmys, but I definitely wouldn't mind a change.

3. It certainly looked like he was purposefully overselling to mock Hogan. Definitely unprofessional, but hilarious and couldn't have happened to a better guy.

Nothing to add to 4 or 5.

More wrestling tomorrow!
