Santino Marella suffered some form of neck injury over the weekend, hence his replacement on the card by Jamie Noble. It seems like there have been a lot of injuries and the like lately.
Update: Santino is undergoing an MRI.
The TNA locker room was said to be pleased with how Genesis turned out. I was less of a fan. Anything with Hogans and Sting involved I'm not so crazy about in 2013.
Smackdown topped 3 million viewers on Friday, the first time it has done so in a LONG time. I hope those Rock fans are now Del Rio fans.
Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Eve Torres has left WWE effective after Raw. She cited burnout of being on the road as a major factor. That makes a good number of Divas who are no longer in the division. WWE could use some new (or returning) blood there. As for Eve, she grew from someone who had trouble with the basics to one of the top Divas out there. It's a shame she won't be a part of the show anymore.
There will be some old faces from ECW at the Bully Ray-Brooke Hogan wedding. That will get some things stirred up. Aces and Eights vs. ECW would be interesting...
After Raw, C.M. Punk challenged The Rock to an immediate fight. Unsurprisingly, Punk ate a Rock Bottom.
For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I don't see them dropping down to 4 PPVs a year any time soon (if ever), especially just to copy TNA. If TNA finds a lot of success with the model? MAYBE. But I'd say that overall there's a low likelihood.
2. Of course, we've got some time until Mania so maybe they do end up making it a triple threat. But who would face Taker? Either way, I expect Rock to beat Punk, then lose the title to Cena at Mania. I can smell the smark tears from here. Not that I'm looking forward to that turn of events, either.
3. Thanks for that reference! I hadn't heard of them in a while. I definitely see similarities in their purpose, but don't think that's what WWE's going for with the group.
4. It's a lot of conjecture at this point. I can see him becoming so popular that the fans won't boo him and it's all for naught for him to be a heel. It'd definitely be interesting to hear him pay homage to the fans given some of his recent promos.
5. Maybe it shows he's more serious in his feud with Punk instead of trying to be the cool movie star? Just a thought.
More wrestling tomorrow.
