Impact Wrestling preview- 9/1/11

Tonight's a pretty big edition of Impact Wrestling. Big enough to get its own preview column. Read on for how I'd try to wrap my head around TNA's booking to set up future storylines going into No Surrender next Sunday.

It's no secret that TNA's kind of a mess right now. No Surrender has a grand total of one match booked for it. Most of the company's focus is either on tonight or Bound For Glory. In other words, it won't be pretty booking most of a show with only 10 days worth of build. You've been warned.

Winter vs. Mickie is a feud I want to end, but I think her next challenge should get more than 2 weeks of build so we're getting a final showdown at No Surrender. Winter misses with her mist this time (Mickie has it scouted and gets out of the way), but Angelina Love at ringside has some of her own that incapacitates the challenger. New Knockouts Law Traci makes a final match for next Sunday. No Angelina at ringside, and Winter will have to prove that she doesn't have any mist or anything in her system before the match via urine sample. No, this doesn't mean bathroom humor. It also implies that the mist isn't from a capsule or whatever. Winter's supernatural to an extent so it works.

AJ Styles has the advantage over Christopher Daniels until a "fan" rushes the ring as Styles is setting up Spiral Tap. Daniels uses the distraction to win via Angel's Wings. He plays up the win big, which ticks Styles off enough to ask for a rematch to settle things. They're friends after all, right? Daniels reluctantly agrees to a match at No Surrender. Eventually it would be revealed that the fan was one of his friends paid off to cost Styles that match.

The Bound For Glory Series brings things down to Crimson, Bully Ray, Robert Roode, and Gunner. Storm's legitimately hurt so he's out. Crimson defies doctor's orders in storyline to compete then (though he's at home recuperating in the meantime).

Sting gets close to beating Angle, but Hogan pulls out the referee. As enforcer, he gets to make the call. He decks Sting with the title and counts a fast pin for his Immortal comrade. Sting vs. Flair is set for No Surrender after an Immortal beatdown of Sting. Abyss is notably absent. They try to get him to come to the ring and help out, and eventually he turns on them and becomes face (using Janice to ward them off/even up the odds). The network told him that Immortal is bad for business, and they gave him a title shot at No Surrender for breaking away from them. He then says that that's not all that's going to go bad for Immortal, because coming next week is... (music plays) Jeff Hardy.

The matches for No Surrender are thus:
Angle vs. Abyss for the World Title
Crimson vs. Bully Ray vs. Robert Roode vs. Gunner in the BFG Series Final
Immortal's Scott Steiner vs. the returning Jeff Hardy
Sting vs. Ric Flair, with a match with Hogan at BFG at stake
Winter vs. Mickie James with the stipulations laid out earlier
Brian Kendrick vs. Austin Aries for the X-Division Title
Samoa Joe vs. Devon vs. D'Angelo Dinero over the issues they've all had recently
Jesse Sorensen vs. Kid Kash

Phew! Glad that's done. I'll be back shortly for how the show actually goes down (coupled with thoughts from WWE Superstars). A news post will be up after midnight. Thanks for reading!
