Questions on Cabana-WWE, wrestling schools, Cena as Champion, the WWE Title, and Mick Foley, brand split update, A-lister to host Raw, WWE promotes Foley endeavor, Punk and Cena sing, Angle responds to DWI, more on Diva article, new TNA signee talks "Big Brother", JBL talks return, WWE.com looks at Internet Title, Rock "returning to action"?, Raw dark match, and press for WWE Network

Today's news starts off with PWInsider.com's questions. Here's my take on them:
1. Cabana worked a dark match for the company in August, but as of yet hasn't been signed by them. The company's still going through a big restructuring, and a good number of people got tryouts in the recent past, so they could still be going through who they want to sign. It's hard to tell which direction they'll end up going on him or any other talent who recently tried out. In the meantime, Cabana's part of the Wrestling Revolution Project along with the former Daivari, MVP, Kenny Dykstra, and Luke Gallows. I don't know how that affects or doesn't affect the possibility of him being signed by a major company. He's got to be one of the biggest free agents right now. WWE, TNA, and ROH should be looking to sign him.

2. I can't really top their answer, but to add to it, check out where some of your favorite wrestlers (or stars you want to be somewhat similar to) got their starts.

3. There are plenty of fans who wanted someone other than Cena to be champion. I can definitely see those criticisms. Rey did lose the title in his second match of the night, though (and he has two matches the previous week), so he's somewhat safe in that regard. Despite their answer, I see Rey as a credible champion. He doesn't have to beat someone up to beat them. He has the technique and agility to win.

After the break, I look at what it would take to get a new WWE Championship, and the rest of the day's news and questions.
4. The time's certainly ripe for one, with the angle they made about it. I think they should do it when Punk gets it back, or at WrestleMania. Actually, Triple H could just debut a new one in his role as COO. Either way they go about it, as the company hopefully keeps the title off of Cena for a while, it'd be good for a fresh start with the title.

5. Foley wasn't happy his last few months there, so they booted him. It's looking more and more likely he'll end up back in WWE in some capacity.

Raw house shows are now being advertised as Raw supershows, though Smackdown shows don't have Raw stars advertised. I don't think that's going to work out too well for the Smackdown shows without some of their stars.

Hugh Jackman will guest host Raw on 9/19 to promote Real Steel. The Santino segment writes itself. That's a really big mainstream appearance for them.

WWE's Twitter page promoted a charity appearance by Mick Foley. Things are definitely warming up between the two parties.

John Cena and C.M. Punk sang "Country Roads" after a house show in WV. Ok then. Glad they get along, though.

Kurt Angle apparently feels that police were making an example of him with his recent DWI, maintaining that he passed a breathalyzer test. While that may be true, it doesn't explain the erratic driving and (as was the case with Matt Hardy) it doesn't necessarily mean you're clean.

Melina also responded to yesterday's big WWE.com Diva article. A related piece is now up as well. This angle's pretty interesting in that it's not morally black and white. It's almost like the Yankees and Red Sox (on a smaller scale of course) where there are a lot of fans of two very different teams instead of villains and heroes. If WWE's smart, there'll be more articles where this came from looking at the Divas' backgrounds pre-WWE.

"Mr. Pec-tacular" talked about death threats on "Big Brother" and a number of other things with TMZ. He's currently training with Team 3D to join TNA.

Former WWE Champion John "Bradshaw" Layfield wrote a blog about a potential WWE return (or TNA debut). I appreciate that he chose to step back and put his health and legacy at a higher priority than hanging on to the spotlight. There are a number of other wrestlers that I wish would follow in his footsteps in that regard. I hope he continues to enjoy life after full-time wrestling.

WWE.com has an article on Zack Ryder and his Internet Championship. The man's hard work is paying off. He's not sitting at home complaining about not being "used right"- he's making an opportunity for himself. I'm not so sure that WWE could officially use that title because of the logos on it, though it's a fun thought for a prop.

Survivor Series ads are promoting that The Rock is "returning to action" at Survivor Series. Interesting... Not sure who he would/should face. Maybe he should just be in Cena's opposition's corner... Cena could pick people for his team and Rock could pick people to represent his own side in a match. Maybe the winning team picks the stipulation for Mania?

Drew McIntyre beat Primo in a dark match before Raw. Not much to say there other than I'd like to see those two compete with the cameras rolling. At least they're not at home doing nothing I suppose.

Finally, here's some press for the newly officially announced WWE Network.

That's all for Monday's news. More to come tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
