Wrestling Netflix updates, Twitter updates, Foley Q&A, Questions on celebrities liking wrestling, the Monday Night Wars, the tree of woe, what year it is in wrestling, Benoit-Polanski, and questions, another Edge appearance, McCool update, Australian ratings, background on Punk promo, Flair on "Cleveland Show", Piper update, Angle interview, Raw rating, new WWE trademark, top Raw stars at Smackdown taping, special guests at Edge tribute show, and WWE plays off of Stacy Keibler's relationship

Here's an updated list of wresting-related releases on Netflix.

Gunner and Eric Young have said more about their recent tweets. I think we'll be seeing more of both of them in the future as TNA inevitably finds another wacky gimmick and/or situation for Young.

Mick Foley had another Q&A recently. I agree about TNA at times. And I can't be the only one picturing him telling those Border Patrol agents what it's like to be pulled over "RIGHT HERE, in Massena, New York" like only he can.

As for PWInsider.com's questions of Monday:
1. Let's see here. Rima Fakih and Maria Menounos come to mind first. Both are pretty down-to-earth, which is surprising yet cool. Shaq and Snoop Dogg to a degree. Eminem. Jenny McCarthy(?). I've honestly lost track of the celebrity appearances and the like over the years!

After the break I go into the rest of the day's news and questions, starting with WWE's feelings during the Monday Night Wars.

2. Well, WWE did do all the "Billionaire Ted", etc. skits during those years so they were more than a little upset that the company took some of their biggest talents, went live, and basically kicked their butts for a while.  Though WWE indeed did some of those things to other promotions over the years. I'd have to see more to get a better grasp of why Hayes was upset over the matter, though. As for the Invasion angle, that's been covered here a number of times. I doubt that they booked things that way just to spit on the company's graves. To suggest that is basically to call them idiots in my book. If they wanted to destroy WCW, I don't see why they'd try to give it its own show and test WCW matches on Raw and the like.

3. I had wondered this for a while as well. It's a reference to something from Conan the Barbarian, which is pretty awesome. The reference is pretty dated, though, so a lot of people wonder.

4. As for their answer, I hate this "us and them" crap they've been pulling lately putting themselves over the companies they cover, but that's beside the point. I definitely agree that there are some characters and stories a good while past their expiration dates, but wrestling as a whole isn't stuck in the '90s. In WWE, Rock's part of a highly-demanded one-time feud, Nash is hopefully gone, and HHH probably won't stick around full-time for long. I don't remember a solid majority of the WWE roster being around in '99. Unfortunately "what" is here to stay. TNA has a greater slice of nostalgic angles, and it does feel pretty outdated there at times. Even they aren't fully stuck in the time machine, though. Hopefully after Bound For Glory they finally stop moving away from the already firmly established guys, but I won't hold my breath. There's a good concentration of Attitude Era still in their veins.

5. Very good metaphor, but I don't see people wanting them forgiven for such things, only that those things should be measured against their great bodies of work. It's a tough line to walk. I haven't watched a Benoit match in years; I enjoyed them tremendously back in the day but there are still too many bad thoughts associated with the idea that I want to steer clear of.

6 (!). I actually like opinion based questions generally. They make me think more. Some of them do get repetitive, though. WWE's not ending PG soon, I don't see Matt Hardy going to WWE, Taker will be back when he wants to,  etc..

Edge is also advertised for the 9/20 Smackdown taping in Ohio as a special appearance, presumably to cross-promote Haven.

Michelle McCool isn't believed to be planning a WWE return, but it could happen when The Undertaker is ready to return to the fold.

For Australian wrestling ratings, Raw got 27,000 viewers, and Smackdown got 28,000. No other wrestling shows cracked the top 100.

For those curious about the references C.M. Punk made to Survivor Series 2006, he went into more detail in a 2009 interview.

Ric Flair will portray an (literal) animated version of himself in an upcoming episode of  "The Cleveland Show". I don't remember the last time he looked much like that.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper is back walking around after his surgery, in true "Hot Rod" fashion.

Kurt Angle talked about Brock Lesnar, "Warrior" and more in an interview.

Hulk Hogan's Kinect video game will be released on 10/11. The previews looked dreadful and barely playable.

Up against two NFL games doing a 10.62 and 8.21 respectively on opening night, Raw did a 2.72. Raw's never been close to either of those levels for a full show. That's massive. Possibly the current angles could be looked at as well, but that had to have taken the biggest chunk of the viewers.

WWE is seeking to trademark "WWE Network". How screwed would they be if someone else had taken that?

John Cena and Alberto Del Rio are being advertised for the 10/11 Smackdown taping. We'll see how that turns out in a month.

Add Edge's original trainer Ron Hutchison and longtime friend Rhino to those who appeared after the Smackdown taping to celebrate Edge's career. The post-taping happenings will likely air on the WWE website. I'll certainly check that out.

Finally, WWE has an article on alumna Stacy Keibler now that she's been linked to George Clooney. Pretty smart, though I doubt this means we'll see either of them on WWE TV any time soon (if ever).

That's all for Tuesday's news. More to come tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
