More coverage of new WWE signing and Angle-MMA story, preview of Miz on H8R, Foley interviews, a look at the draw of wrestling collectibles, Santino's Cobra in rugby victory celebration?, note on Impact Wrestling tapings, TNA fan party, new Jeff Hardy merch, Questions on Miz, McGillicutty, Cole, Angle vs. Storm, and Jackman-Ziggler, Uso arrested for DUI, 3 hour Raw set, WWE cuts referee/former wrestler, JR talks Hell In A Cell, Daivari/Bashir interview, Natalya promotes upcoming shows, details on HBK/Hart DVD, Miz talks firing and one-ups Hogan, Lawler update, McMahon's net worth, Z! TLIS #33, and a 2nd-generation developmental release

NBC Sports covered the hiring of WWE's new VP of talent relations. I'm a little concerned about the fact that she gave so little notice for leaving her previous job, and left her chairperson spot that she was hired for until the end of 2012. I think it's a legitimate concern that she could end up doing something similar in WWE. It seems like a rather odd fit on paper, but we'll see how it goes.

Fox Sports covered Kurt Angle's claims of going into MMA, but not Dana White's response to them. Unsurprisingly, the wrestling media doesn't buy his claims either.

Here's a video preview of The Miz on H8R. I'll definitely be watching that one, especially if there's real physicality involved. I wouldn't sell Miz short in a physical confrontation with a non-athlete.

Mick Foley was interviewed about a number of topics. I think it's about time for him to either get signed or turn them down. This feels like it's gone on for quite a while now.

Update: Here's another Foley Q&A.

Here's an article looking at the success of wrestling collectibles. The action movie metaphor is spot-on.

After the break, I go into the rest of the day's news, including a look at PWInsider.com's questions.

Here's what some are claiming was a rugby player imitating Santino Marella's Cobra during a game. That's seriously one of the most confusing things I've read in quite some time, and not just because of how Australians spell "meow".

Following the 10/26 taping in Macon, GA, the rest of TNA's TV tapings and PPVs will be in Orlando. That's not awfully surprising.

TNA drew 300 fans to a party in Glasgow, Scotland. Not sure how good that is.

TNA has put some new Jeff Hardy shirts up for sale. Also, hilariously, they're still selling Matt Hardy merchandise (presumably what they still had in stock before his release). Money's the bottom line, and they can still sell.

On to my look at PWInsider.com's questions:
1. They're just doing something different with him at present while others work the title picture. I think we'll definitely see him back in the title mix in the future. He's only 30, and WWE's put a lot into him over the years. If they like him enough to put him in an angle with The Rock and John Cena at WrestleMania, they'll almost certainly like him enough to give him another shot in the WWE Title picture.

2. What they said, for one. Surely they could have called him Mike Hennig or something if they wanted to. I'm guessing that they didn't want him to have to live up to being the son of a Hall of Famer. That's a steep hill to climb.

3. I remember that Triple H threatened to sue him for breach of contract if he stopped commentating, so that could be covered there. He must like the money enough to stay. Not to mention the C.M. Punk philosophy of not being able to change things when you aren't there to change them.

4. You must be somewhat new to wrestling, especially TNA. That's not an uncommon occurrence there.  Same with the obvious spot set-ups.

5. For the first and third parts, it was a planned part of the show, so no. For the second part, he cleverly made the injury up.

Jimmy Uso was arrested for DUI with a .18 blood alcohol level, going the wrong way on a street. Ugh. Just when they were getting back in the spotlight to a degree. I hate when things like this happen. Hopefully this he at least gets reprimanded over this.

Update: Tampabay.com and TMZ picked up the story. Not good publicity for the company by any stretch.

Update: Add the Washington Post (by way of the Associated Press) to the list. Sigh.

The 11/14 edition of Raw, 6 nights before Survivor Series, will be a 3-hour show. That could work out well or could end up bloated. Time will tell.

The former Nunzio/Little Guido was released by WWE, where he worked somewhat briefly as a referee.  He definitely stood out when he was calling matches, given his years as a recognizable performer.

Jim Ross discussed Hell in a Cell recently. You don't need a lot of blood, dangerous bumps, and weapons to put on a solid gimmick match. They're just tools. A good enough worker can succeed without them. Same goes with profanity for that matter. Believing otherwise is an outdated mindset.

Former WWE and TNA performer Daivari/Sheik Abdul Bashir talked to Slam! about a number of subjects. Very nice read.

Natalya promoted a number of upcoming shows in Mississippi. Well done. She got over the taping, the house show, the PPV, and her current angle. This should be the model for this kind of thing.

Here's the rundown on the anticipated Shawn Michaels-Bret Hart DVD. I'll definitely be checking this one out.

The Miz continues to go after Triple H in appearances to sell his angle. I love it.

In another Miz story, he signed a Hulk Hogan card when The Hulkster apparently wouldn't. You never know who's going to blog about your appearance, so you should probably be on your A-game as far as publicity goes.

Jim Ross' latest blog mentions that Jerry Lawler is expected back on commentary at Hell in a Cell. Perfect timing to call Mark Henry's World Title match!

The latest Forbes 400 list cuts off at slightly over $1 billion, which excludes Vince McMahon. It was noted that he has slightly over $400 million in WWE stock at present. Not bad, but not as much as he used to have. The stock's dropped over the years.

Here's the latest edition of Z! True Long Island Story. Very entertaining as always.

It's now been officially confirmed that Wes Brisco has been released from his FCW contract. He was removed from the roster several months ago and was assumed to have been cut then. I've never seen him compete, so I don't know if that was a smart move or not.

That's all for Thursday's news. More to come tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
