WWE Survivor Series preview

Tonight, WWE presents its annual Fall Classic from Madison Square Garden. Every match is either a title match or a grudge match (if not both), so this one's pretty important. The Rock, John Cena, The Miz, R-Truth, Mark Henry, Big Show, Randy Orton, Sheamus, C.M. Punk, Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett, and Sin Cara are all in action. Read on for how I'd book the show.
If we need a 7th match for time reasons, my choice is Alex Riley and Ted DiBiase vs. Drew McIntyre and JTG in a "we notice your work and appreciate it" match. JTG gets a dirty win over DiBiase.

For that same reason, the dark match in this scenario is Johnny Curtis and Derrick Bateman (with Maxine) winning against a local team.

As for what's actually scheduled:
Beth Phoenix and Eve do the vintage Lumberjill match spots of ending up outside the ring and being put back in by the Divas who are the opposite character alignment that they are. Heels and faces eventually get in a shoving match at ringside and the referees try to bring order to the proceedings. As this goes on, Beth chokes Eve against the ropes until she passes out (since the referee has his hands full with what's going on outside the ring), making her easy prey for a pinfall. The DoD mimic crying to Eve as she's being assisted by medical staff. We keep on keeping on with this feud. Eve's "hurt" for a while, so Kelly and Alicia defend her honor. I don't think Alicia's ready for/earned a PPV singles match for the title, so we'll go for a triple threat at TLC (they can beat the Bellas in a #1 Contenders' tag match). I think it's a little too soon to tease Beth vs. Natalya.

The 10-man tag should come before the U.S. Title match. This one's a doozy. Epico and Primo attack Sin Cara with a pipe during his entrance. He's taken out of the match, but Hunico's DQ'd (even though it was technically before the bell rang). The heels take advantage until Orton fights back the odds (you knew that was coming). It's not an easy task, and we get down to just Orton and Barrett. Barrett kicks Orton low while he holds onto the referee (so he won't see it), then wins via Wasteland. Theodore Long puts them in a Tables match next month.

At some point after that match, Ziggler has to defend his title against John Morrison. Obviously he's not 100% after his previous match, so he and Swagger make sure that Morrison isn't either. They attack his ankle, and he's unable to compete. Ziggler celebrates, but Theodore Long has an announcement for him. He'll have another match, and Jack Swagger will be banned from ringside. His opponent? (pause for dramatic effect) Zack Ryder, who wins the U.S. Title in front of his NYC broskis.

Del Rio does his best to beat Punk, but the Straight Edge Superstar is determined to walk out with the title. Ricardo distracts the official when Del Rio's in position to Go 2 Sleep, and a number of "hired thugs" (indy wrestlers in bandanas) take out Punk. Del Rio escapes with the title while this is going on. Next month, the only way Del Rio's leaving with the title is if he can bring it down with a ladder.

Mark Henry does his damnedest to put Big Show away, but the angry giant takes everything he can bring. Henry gets a chair and lays into him, looking to put him back on the shelf. Security and other members of the roster put a stop to that, and we get a Chair match between them next month (meaning chairs are legal). They've got gimmick matches to sell in December, so I'm giving them reasons to happen.

And of course, there's Awesome Truth vs. John Cena and The Rock. Miz and R-Truth single Cena out and beat him down. Rock chomps at the bit to get in, and we get all the "ref didn't see the tag" etc. type shenanigans to really build to when he does officially get in. Cena finally digs deep and makes his way over there, only for Rock to DDT him as soon as he's tagged in. A Rock Bottom later, he leaves. Miz gets the win after a Skull Crushing Finale (which is just insult to injury at that point). Rock's back to Hollywood until Mania time (presumably) so Cena will need a new partner to face Miz and Truth at TLC match. Tables, Ladders, and Chairs will be legal, and above the ring will be contracts for the winner to choose their numbers for the Royal Rumble. Cena's partner is Sheamus after Awesome Truth do a number on Ryder.

So, that's what I'd do. I'll be back to cover how it actually happens later tonight. Thanks for reading!
