Another WWE clip on The Soup, Carlito/MVP talk WWE, Dixie Carter and Tara interviews, more press for Angle, Bearer talks Raw, Questions on disrespecting wrestling, Taker the locker room leader, pushing non-wrestlers, and Maria, Mysterio suspended and FCW expands

Theodore Long referring to John Cena as a 2-time WWE Champion and a 10-time WWE Champion from the 4/23 Raw made it onto The Soup.

Former WWE superstars Carlito and MVP discussed the former's time with the company in-depth. Quite the listen. Part 1 Part 2

Dixie Carter talked to the Miami Herald about the new deal with Spike, Ring Ka King, and more. Good read from someone you don't see interviewed often.

Tara was also interviewed ahead of a live event in her hometown.

Kurt Angle's failed Olympics quest was mentioned in Sports Illustrated.

Paul Bearer talked about his surprise Raw appearance from 4/23. Undertaker must have gotten the "return from the dead" thing from his side of the family.

After the break, I go into the rest of the news from 4/26, starting with PWInsider.com's questions. First up, why doesn't the mainstream media cover wrestling?

1. What they said, basically. Unfortunately it's still viewed as something for "rednecks" and kids, which is stupid given how many people watch it around the world.

2. As they said, it's linked to his longevity with the company. He's not a "fair weather" WWE performer- he stayed even when WCW was dominating in the ratings and snatching up less loyal talent.

3. They bring up an interesting point - were Maria not involved with the show, would we have had any Divas in matches at all (outside of Eve's interference)? So maybe in some ways it helped the Divas to get some exposure. I can definitely see why they'd be upset that they were overlooked in favor of someone who didn't exactly impress with her wrestling acumen (granted, she was working injured). While management does have the say on pushing women, having experienced people working with them behind the scenes would make the matches better.

4. Non-wrestling fans would tune in to see Tyson more so than those names. Any time they get people outside of the regular wrestling circles to see what it's all about, there's a chance that they'll stick around and grow business. That's why WWE uses celebrities.

5. I think Maria wanted to do more things outside of what she was doing on TV (designing clothes?) and WWE would want control of that. I don't think she was more over than Mickie James, but everyone has their own opinion.

Rey Mysterio was suspended from WWE for 60 days after failing a Wellness test for a second time. More on this as it comes out. That's disappointing from a top star. How WWE follows up on this with one of their top acts will be very interesting and important.

Finally, FCW will be doing some of its TV tapings at Full Sail University in Orlando going forward. That's pretty cool.

That's all from the news for 4/26. More news to come tomorrow as I continue to catch up. Thanks for reading!

Finally,
