NXT Reax - 5/16/12

Read on for my thoughts on the 5/16 NXT!
Johnny Curtis and Percy Watson get solid praise from me for the opening match. I'm glad they got the time to do what they can do. I wish they got to be on Raw or Smackdown (or at least Superstars).

Khali/Jackson vs. Reks/Hawkins felt kind of like filler. Basic big men tag match. Reks and Hawkins were the better "team" as far as working together, but that's kind of to be expected given their experience as a duo.

Kaitlyn and Maxine continue to be dependable to put on solid matches that I doubt anyone saw coming in 2010. They get that it's about telling a story with your moves and style, and their ring work is at or near the top of the division.

The triple threat was AMAZING. Kidd and Bateman did well covering the "good wrestling" part of the match while McGillicutty played a solid jerk heel who also had his working boots on. All three make the future of the company look bright. Kidd in particular could really be someone if pushed right.

As for rankings, 5 is ready for the main roster, 4 is almost there, 3 is in the middle, 2 is closer to FCW-ready than WWE-ready and 1 should be kept in FCW or released.
Derrick Bateman - 5 (Last time: 4). Bateman held his own in a very impressive three-way, pulling out a workrate that I haven't seen from him in some time. If he keeps up impressive in-ring performances, he'll stick around at a 5. If Camacho can make it to the main roster, I don't see why Bateman shouldn't be considered worthy of a spot as well.

That's all for the 5/16 NXT. The 5/17 Superstars and Impact Wrestling will also be up today in the new style. Thanks for reading!
