Here are results from a recent NXT house show. I'm curious to see what this Shoot Nation group is all about. I'm also ready to see Kevin Owens work some live events to get his feet wet in the NXT ring. They must have confidence in him to succeed right out of the gate if he's not doing tours.
Update: Here's another NXT live event. No Balor on live events either, interestingly enough.
NXT Women's Champion Charlotte is booked for Raw and Smackdown the week of the next Takeover special, so maybe she'll have a match to promote the brand. I hope so!
WWE is continuing to sell a lot of C.M. Punk merchandise. Either they already had a lot made or the two sides have come to a deal to keep selling merch with the previous designs. Punk remains retired and out of the wrestling bubble.
Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
TNA is expected to have a new look and feel once it hits Destination America. That makes sense.
Destination America has really gained popularity after acquiring the rights to TNA, which has got to make both sides happy.
TNA might tape new TV in December. If they do so, the tapings might be in Michigan. Otherwise, they could just wait until early January and tape in NYC. I'm glad they're getting things in motion now after it felt like they might be out of options by the end of the year.
TNA will have a "Thanksgiving Throwdown" edition of Impact next week, made up of the best TNA Turkey Bowl matches and broadcast on YouTube (and internationally). They still have to fill TV slots overseas, so they had to make something. I'll be skipping that one. I doubt I'll cover any TNA show until there's new content.
Roman Reigns talked about being compared to John Cena and more. I'm impressed with his drive. I think he's just compared to Cena because of the "five moves of doom" and big push.
Kamala's declining health was profiled. That's a really sad story. I hope there are lessons learned from the path he's taken.
Sheamus and a UFC star had a back-and-forth on Twitter after Sports Illustrated asked who would win between the two. The "wrestling's fake" UFC crowd are the worst.
Kane talked about the WWE Performance Center and more. What's the over-under on how long it is before he wears the mask again? I could see him putting it on on the road to WM31, maybe to face Taker in a retirement match for one or both of them?
Sheamus talked about the WWE Network and more. Having more original content will make the Network more attractive, I think. That's expensive and easier said than done, though.
For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I don't see it happening, if for no other reason than WWE doesn't have a big enough roster of stars who are over for it to sell the PPV. It'd be interesting to have an NXT-exclusive elimination match on the show, though.
2. I can see the concern here, but they're already probably taking a big hit by giving it for free for a month to all the non-subscribers.
Nothing to add to 3.
4. I'm struggling to come up with a kayfabe reason outside of trying to reverse the Tombstone, or just bracing themselves for the impact of it.
5. No Bruno or Andre!? I'd pick Bruno, Andre, Hogan, and Flair personally. Or maybe even someone like Lou Thesz or Frank Gotch should be in the mix.
More wrestling tomorrow.
