Interviews with EC3/Rikishi, more on Aries-ROH, what happened after Raw, champ meets champ in Japan, Brock victim update, Kidd update, more on ROH show, more on TNA vs. GFW, more names for GFW, Austin-Piper podcast war, Raw storyline injury updates, press for HoFer, new NXT coach official, and Divas division update

Ethan Carter III talked about winning the TNA World Title and more. NXT: Redemption was a lot of fun because they got a lot of free reign. It was barely a WWE show in that sense. It had elements of a sitcom at the same time as a big feud involving the current PTP. No one forced them to be certain characters. They just went out there and did what they do best.

Austin Aries has said the July 17 ROH show is just the beginning. I hope he does some matches those fans want to see and fresh opponents, etc. before working events with NXT or GFW. It's worth noting we could still see him in TNA in the future, as well.

John Cena put Cesaro over after Raw. I didn't expect a Punk reference. I love this angle of giving wrestlers a chance to grab the brass ring like Cena did in his early career.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

NXT Champion Finn Balor met the current IWGP World Champion. That's pretty cool. WWE acknowledging other promotions is a nice change of pace.

The fan hit with a car door on Raw got a lot of free WWE merchandise. I wonder if they work his accident into the angle.

Tyson Kidd tweeted about his injury. Sounds like he's damn lucky to have made it through. I hope this isn't the end for him.

Roderick Strong vs. NJPW star Kazuchika Okada is set for ROH's Summerslam weekend event. They obviously want that show to be a big deal. It's unlikely they'll change the start time for that event, even though they'll be going head-to-head with an NXT show in the same area. Everything's pretty much all set in motion, and bumping outside during a hot summer day wouldn't be fun at all.

Update: The show will also feature the NOAH/NJPW team of Killer Elite Squad vs. ROH's War Machine. KES are the former Vance Archer/Lance Hoyt and David Hart Smith. I'd like to see both of them on U.S. TV again.

The TNA-GFW storyline will continue at the next set of Impact Wrestling tapings. Part of the reason the two sides are working together is so TNA talents will have somewhere to pick up some more bookings in the gaps between tapings. There's also speculation this is some kind of agreement to get Jeff Jarrett to give up his remaining shares in TNA. Either way, it's got people interested. Whether that interest will help TNA long-term remains to be seen.

Eric Young will be working this weekend's GFW shows. It's good to see some names able to get more bookings and exposure through this agreement.

Update: Mickie James has been booked for GFW's first TV taping, where she'll compete for their Women's Championship. Their roster has a nice start. I hope we see more familiar faces mixed in with the stars of tomorrow.

Roddy Piper recently claimed he was forced from PodcastOne due to Stone Cold having heat with Piper for running a parody segment featuring Will Sasso as Austin. Stone Cold has denied this, saying Piper left PodcastOne of his own accord. Either way, it seems like Piper's podcast is done for now.

As part of Raw's angle, WWE is claiming Brock Lesnar gave Jamie Noble a broken arm and Joey Mercury a concussion. I'm curious as to how long they'll continue their current roles.

SI.com caught up with Tito Santana. Glad to see he's doing well.

Adam Pearce has officially started as a regular coach in NXT after moving from California. That's great for him and for the students.

Here's the trailer for YouShoot with Rikishi. Should be some good stuff.

The plan for the current feud in the Divas division is for it to lead to The Bellas/Alicia Fox vs. Paige/Charlotte/Sasha Banks at Summerslam. Plans could change as far as who will join Charlotte from NXT, but Sasha seems most likely. Both Divas are quite talented and have the tools necessary to be successful on the main roster.

More wrestling tomorrow.
