Superstars Reax - 7/25/15, NXT and WWE live event notes, live report from DBD, Axel update, NXT in Texas confirmed, top music name endorses Total Divas, WWE Champ at indie show, big Summerslam rumor, more Network content, ROH loses one DA timeslot, and Questions on Punk as a UFC draw, TE on the Network, TNA dying, chants, and NJPW

Superstars:

- Truth vs. Slater:
This match is OK so far. I'm fine with some levity in this context.

That was fairly quick. Truth's gotten a lot of matches lately.

- Bo vs. Neville:
These two have experience working together, and it shows. They seem more comfortable with each other.

Fine match for what it was. It's weird to think it's been a long time since these two were NXT Champions.

Everything else from yesterday, aside from the Hogan situation, is after the break.

Eva Marie, Emma, and Samoa Joe worked Friday's NXT live event. It's good to see Eva getting the chance to improve herself.

Here's a live report from ROH's iPPV. Lethal and Strong certainly looked like warriors for going so long. I don't think anyone doubts their athleticism.

Curtis Axel has returned to his pre-Axelmania gimmick. He and Sandow (no longer Macho Mandow) beat Brad Maddox and Adam Rose at a live event this weekend. How long has it been since Maddox was on WWE TV?

WWE officially announced NXT coming to Texas in September. I'm glad they're getting more dates outside Florida.

Iggy Azalea tweeted about potentially appearing on Total Divas. That's a pretty cool endorsement. WWE should make that happen.

Seth Rollins was at a recent PWG show. That's pretty cool for them to have the WWE Champion there.

There's talk about Summerslam being four hours this year, but nothing's confirmed at the moment. That's a pretty long time for a wrestling event.

WWE has added more Raw episodes from 1997 to the Network. Presumably they'll eventually have all of their older content ready to be aired there.

Ring of Honor has been dropped from its 8 p.m. (EST) timeslot on Destination America. It will remain airing at 11 p.m.. I would imagine this is an attempt to get a higher number for one airing than having that audience split between two times. It will be interesting to see what the wrestling lineup on DA will be in 2016. I'd personally like DA to give GFW a shot at the 8 p.m. slot, but there's no word on if that will happen.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I think there will definitely be curiosity from the outside of UFC world for at least his first fight. I can see him doing better as a draw than people who don't have the edge of having been a draw somewhere else. As for the long term, it definitely will depend on how he appeals to the UFC faithful.

2. They might put the concept back on mothballs if it doesn't get picked up by a TV network again. It's probably time. You can only do so many reboots before people lose interest.

3. I think TNA in 2015 is similar to what they were in 2005, before the Spike days. Except this time they're downsizing to that level and I would be surprised to see them get a big TV deal that takes them to the next step. Plus, TNA in 2005 had a die-hard fanbase that had grown around certain characters (Styles, Daniels, Abyss, Joe). It was like NXT in that a lot of acts had a cult following and some dedicated fans. I couldn't tell you what makes up the TNA fanbase in 2015, since the audience they had in 2005 is more like the audience of ROH or NXT today. In theory they can keep surviving as more or less an indie promotion. We'll see how that plays out.

4. It's a fairly clever chant, but I think we have more than enough irreverent chants in 2015. I don't really "get" the idea of the fans making the show about themselves instead of the people in the ring.

5. It'd be like doing play-by-play for a DVD. The NJPW show is a clip show.

More wrestling tomorrow.
