WWE live event notes, international champion set for GFW, Interviews with Ryder/Austin/Brie/Eva Marie, Aries makes his move, another impressive NXT venue, ROH live event notes, MVP note, TNA-ROH note, more on TNA executive departure, another live Impact?, another country gets the Network, Smackdown rating, backstage at Raw, Compton pitches WWE return, fan injured during Raw, and Questions on BitE, WWE's writing, Lana, and Luger in the HoF

In addition to another teaming of Heath Slater with Brad Maddox, Sunday's WWE live event featured David Otunga losing to R-Truth. I wonder how Otunga and Maddox would do in NXT, if they plan on using either or both as wrestlers going forward.

NJPW's KUSHIDA will be working the debut taping for GFW. He recently worked with ROH. There's been a lot of interest about the GFW project. I hope it pays off.

Zack Ryder was profiled. Ryder really gained personality after the Edgeheads angle ended, which was necessary to make him worth another look. The ECW brand was a good place for him to test that out.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Stone Cold, unsurprisingly, shot down a match for WM32. He definitely needs to be there. Hopefully Taker, Sting, HHH, Rock, and Lesnar in matches will be enough to break attendance records if WWE is able to use them all. Ronda Rousey and Stone Cold appearances would be quite helpful, too.

Update: Austin also talked to TalkSport and MTV. Austin vs. Lesnar in their primes would have been amazing. In 2016? I'm not so sure.

Brie Bella teased a match at WM32 and more:
- The Bellas vs. Lita and Trish would be big if the latter two are able to get back in the ring.

- I'm interested in seeing which Divas come up from NXT and when. They've got some pretty talented names down there.

- Eva Marie's training to be a better wrestler, and will be working NXT soon. I don't really have an issue with her working with Kendrick from home if it pays off.

Eva Marie had an interview as well. I can only imagine what the members of the WWE roster go through when we don't see them on TV. They have human flaws just like fans do.

Austin Aries will be returning to ROH at their July 17 show, which will presumably lead to him working there regularly. Definitely a loss by TNA. I'd rather see him in NXT, but I can see why he'd go back to a place where he was already two-time champion.

NXT will be running a live event in Miami later this month in a 1,000-seat arena. That's a step up from their normal Florida shows.

ODB will be facing a long-time Japanese veteran for ROH in Las Vegas. That's pretty big for her.

MVP is taking bookings outside of TNA. He remains under contract to the promotion, but is able to do independent dates. So, don't jump to conclusions.

At some point, TNA pitched having a top ROH name attacking a TNA babyface, leading to the babyface going over on a TNA show. ROH obviously turned them down. I think that could have worked for both sides if done right. The ROH name beating some lower-level TNA guys would establish them as a threat. Either way, I think it could really help both companies to "cross-pollinate" to some degree, even if it's just TNA names checking out ROH action and vice versa.

Andy Barton leaving TNA was seen as a surprise given his tenure there. Given where TNA is right now, a change in executives is probably worth a shot.

TNA could be doing a live episode of Impact Wrestling on July 22. Works for me. Just don't expect it to see a huge gain in ratings.

WWE Network has launched in Italy. At least, the English version has. Either way, that's good for both sides.

Smackdown's audience Thursday night was down to 2.27 million. All in all, not a good week for the ratings of TV wrestling.

Goldust and Stardust were backstage at Raw. WWE could have put together a preview for the Dusty special involving those two and the other guests instead of the Truth/Barrett match.

Cliff Compton, formerly Domino in WWE, put together a demo tape to pitch a WWE return. Not bad! I appreciate his efforts.

A fan was struck by the car door thrown by Brock Lesnar. He was attended to by paramedics and later returned to the crowd. He's believed to be OK. That could have ended quite badly for WWE and Brock if he was hurt. I could see there being some fallout from this where WWE wants him to be more careful and/or they do more to make sure fans know there's a risk involved.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. The match was just to show Brock's dominance after a few months away. I don't think it hurt New Day to be Brock's victims the way it would someone more important on the card. As for that main eventing, it didn't last long enough to be worthy of following the NXT Title match and Cena's match. Cena's the top full-time guy in WWE, so I wasn't upset at him going on last from that perspective.

2. If Marvel had to do five hours of an Avengers TV show every week and a PPV every month, featuring a lot more characters, the quality would probably suffer. They had one story to focus on for however long it took to write, film, etc., and a number of drafts and takes to get things how they wanted it. That's very different from how WWE operates.

3. I think they might still end up doing that once she becomes more of a face. It would basically retcon everything about her character if they say she was American the whole time and her name isn't Lana. THAT would be the kind of thing to complain about from a story perspective.

4. That's probably it. Not to mention the connotations of the move's name. I do seem to remember Cole and Saxton making note of the move being from his Japan days.

5. It will probably happen eventually. I almost wish they'd go ahead and induct every important wrestler ever next year to end all the suspense of who they'll put in and win...

More wrestling tomorrow.
