Randy Orton was at the MLB game in St. Louis to promote Battleground, and gave an interview. Him putting over Balor, Owens, and Neville was nice. It's good to see excitement about the people down in NXT.
Stardust blogged about his dad's passing. Pretty touching stuff. Entertaining story about Waffle House.
The current plan for Takeover" Brooklyn is to have a two-hour Network special and also film an episode of NXT. WWE is impressed with the ticket sales so far. It's an exciting time to follow the brand. I wonder what the biggest audience for an FCW show ever was.
Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Seth Rollins did three interviews before Battleground: Fox Sports, Philly.com, and PodNasty:
- The Curb Stomp is pretty violent. I think the Pedigree works better for him in his current incarnation anyway.
- Competing with Cena is still a big stage for a lot of talent. It puts money in their pockets and gets more fans to know about them. He's an important part of WWE.
- The schedule of a top WWE star is really heavy. It takes a lot of sacrifice.
Chris Sabin will be unable to make the first GFW taping due to injury. KUSHIDA will take his place. It's kind of odd a former TNA World Champion is considered a Nex*Gen guy, but that reign was really booked like he was a fluke and lucky to hold the belt.
Ric Flair, Harley Race, and "Cowboy" Bob Orton were backstage at Battleground. Flair and Orton had to be proud of their children's performances.
For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. That's pretty much it. WWE's trying to move people from buying PPVs through cable/satellite to watching on the Network. Some providers still carry the show as a PPV, and want to drive traffic that way.
2. I think it'd be pretty entertaining if they just did a feature of hate mail. I can only imagine what they get.
3. Absolutely. Both men are big names and that would really get some intrigue. I don't see Sting taking the trip to Suplex City at his age, though, so I wouldn't count on it happening.
4. Given how the ratings for ROH are lower than TNA's, DA would be crazy to think of spending all that money for a second hour. If they can't even compete with the diminishing TNA audience, I strongly doubt they'd pose a threat to WWE. We'll see how things go for ROH when it comes time to renew.
5. As was said, you can watch Takeover on the Network later if you want to go to the ROH show. I don't see them moving the time.
More wrestling tomorrow.
