Superstars Reax - 7/17/15, another Angle update, Interviews with Adam Cole/Rollins/Dudleys, Y2J update, Swagger note, more on Hernandez-TNA, BFG '15 location set, NXT promotion, Cena challenges NBA king, Bryan rumorkiller, Smackdown audience, TNA loses another top name, and Questions on Tough Enough, lawsuits, ECW on the Network, Liger in NXT, and Ziggler's contract

Superstars:
I'm a fan of undercard wrestlers getting promo time before their matches. I'm not a fan of the same guy cutting essentially the same promo for quite some time on B-shows. I liked Adam Rose's party character, but it's dead in the water now.

- Rose vs. Swagger:
Fine match for the time it got. It's good to see Swagger can still get it done in the ring. Rose certainly isn't bad, either.

That wasn't a bad backstage segment to set up the later match. I hope Mojo's taking notes on what his NXT partner does in that match.

- Woocha Dragons vs. Ascension/Dallas:
I'm liking this six-man so far. Straightforward tag team stuff.

The Lucha Dragons have worked with The Ascension enough to bring out the best in each other. It's good to see.

Not a bad match at all.

Kurt Angle is home resting after his followup procedure. I don't remember the last time we didn't see Kurt Angle at a TNA taping; that streak could be broken at the upcoming week of shows. Who knows what they'll do to fill time if he's not around.

ROH's Adam Cole talked about trying out for WWE and more. He's regarded pretty highly, so I could see WWE giving him another chance if he ever splits with ROH.

Chris Jericho is set for four WWE live events in September. There are still a couple of people I want to see him face off with if he can hang, namely Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, and Tyler Breeze. Has he faced Cesaro? That'd be good, too.

Jack Swagger has deleted his Twitter account, leading to speculation he's leaving WWE. No word on that at this time. Obviously he's pretty low in the pecking order there after being in World Title matches not that awful long ago. Maybe going elsewhere for a new beginning would work for him, since I don't see him getting a push anytime soon without Zeb in his corner.

Seth Rollins talked before Battleground. Interesting comments about the champion working live events. Brock's definitely an incredibly physical guy to face.

The Dudleys talked about wanting to return to WWE. I wouldn't mind a very brief reunion run or them helping people out in NXT. I personally got more than enough of them in TNA. Speaking of which, their TNA work wasn't mentioned at all. That's somewhat surprising, even with them clearly wanting to be in WWE instead.

Some updates on Hernandez's contract situation:
- MVP pushed TNA to sign him as part of the BDC, presumably to replace Samoa Joe as the muscle of the group.

- Hernandez indicated he was free from contractual obligations, and legally able to sign with TNA. After he signed there, LU put forth the cease-and-desist order because he had not been released from the contract he had with them. He had requested a release, but it had not been made official yet.

- LU stipulated Hernandez not appear on any other televised promotion before their current season ends on August 5, and also had a no-compete clause following that date.

- TNA considered taking legal action in order to at least get a temporary restraining order so he could appear on the shows they've already taped. Since he didn't take that route, they released him from his contract and removed his segments from what's been taped.

- LU denies TNA offered to pay them for the rights to use the material already filmed.

I wouldn't expect to see Hernandez in TNA again until he's 100% legally in the clear, if they decide to use him again at all. This really put the company in a bad predicament.

TNA Bound For Glory will soon be announced for the Charlotte, North Carolina area. They ran a PPV there a few years back, so that's not a huge surprise. I'm interested to see how that show will do given the slump the company is in.

There will be an "NXT Night" at a Florida baseball team's game on Wednesday, with Finn Balor and Bayley attending. I hope that gets more people to the Florida live events.

John Cena laid down a challenge to LeBron James. That would definitely be a box-office draw, but I don't really see it happening.

Daniel Bryan shot down a fake interview making the rounds saying he's done as a wrestler. I hope we do see him back in the ring, although obviously some are worried we won't.

Smackdown's audience Thursday night was 2.15 million, the lowest mark since December. The show feels more and more like an afterthought. Even when it's good, it's obvious Raw is the show where important stuff happens.

MVP has announced his departure from TNA. This had been building for months now, following the roster being out of the loop about developments with Destination America, a lot of people being out of the loop with Jeff Jarrett's return (which caused the whole show to be reformatted shortly before they went live), and finally MVP's segments being cut off from upcoming episodes of Impact Wrestling due to Hernandez still being under contract to LU. After so many lineup changes to the BDC due to departures and an injury, I can't blame him for being upset. MVP's a talented guy. I'm sure he'll be able to continue to get enjoyment out of wrestling somewhere else. I wouldn't assume he'll end up in GFW or WWE/NXT, but I wouldn't 100% rule it out, either.

As for what this means for Homicide and Kenny King, we don't know yet. It's possible TNA wants to push King as a singles star. I'd assume the BDC as a whole is done, as Homicide's probably a few months from returning (if he does so at all). TNA's really got their work cut out for them for the upcoming TV tapings with so many important names leaving or otherwise unable to compete (as in Angle's case).

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I truly don't know if there's some kind of conspiracy of Daniel Bryan fans just voting for his bottom picks to be eliminated. Obviously he has pretty dedicated followers.

2. I'd think yeti would sound something like Wookies.

3. I doubt they're living in mansions. Some of them could probably use some money after living like rockstars in their heydays. Does that excuse these lawsuits? No. But it helps explain them.

4. They said they'll add it. They didn't give a timeframe. I'd like to think it'd be soon, though.

5. ROH doesn't have an exclusive deal to use NJPW talent in the U.S.. So, GFW and NXT can use them as well. I wouldn't assume this is some kind of jab at ROH, but NXT is certainly directly competing with them that night. It will be interesting to see what happens between WWE and ROH going forward.

6. Other sources are reporting it, as well. PWInsider is a credible source, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt here.

More wrestling tomorrow.
