NXT and ROH live event notes, more on Liger, more on MVP-TNA, Kenny King note, Takeover:Brooklyn update, WWE name misses show, new name at WWEPC, Rollins vs. IWC, Punk talks WWE, and Questions on how wrestlers get paid, TNA rotating talents, the U.S. Title open challenge, EC3, and the plusses of Hogan/Bischoff

Here are results from this weekend's NXT live event, featuring Zack Ryder and Eva Marie. Bayley's back in action, as well. I suspect she'll take the title from Sasha at Takeover. I also suspect we'll be seeing more of some of these names with the big injuries and callups. I look forward to seeing Uhaa especially.

William Regal tweeted about how Jushin Liger is working Takeover. It will be RRREEEAAALLLLLYYYYY interesting to see what happens going forward between NJPW and NXT given their relationships with GFW and ROH. I think it could be great to have some NJPW names work the bigger NXT shows (and maybe even some of the tapings). Obviously, the focus needs to remain on getting that next generation of WWE names ready.

The decision for MVP to leave TNA was made official Thursday. I don't think anyone was all that surprised it finally happened.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Bobby Fish is the new #1 Contender for the ROH TV Championship following a live event that also featured Willie Mack's ROH debut and Austin Aries' ROH return. Fish is challenging for the tag team titles at ROH's next PPV in a few nights. Because ROH cares more about star ratings for their matches than storylines, Fish vs. Lethal is something of an afterthought. Not to mention they've already announced a different TV Title match for the next TV taping. Does that make Fish the #2 Contender?

There's speculation of Kenny King leaving TNA following the end of BDC, although at this point it's only speculation. It will be interesting to see what he does at the next set of tapings.

WWE has sold quite a few tickets for Takeover: Brooklyn. They might have to open more of the arena than they did initially. Can they top their record from WM31 weekend?

Kofi Kingston missed a recent WWE live event in what could have been a travel issue. He made Battleground, though, so we know he's OK.

German goalkeeper Tim Wiese was at the WWEPC recently. No word on when/if he'll start working NXT.

Seth Rollins took to Twitter to address fans who hated Lesnar as champion last year, but now want to see him with the title. Those same fans wanted Rollins to win and now complain about him being champion. There's part of the fan base that can't be pleased. Although I wonder if they're even fans given that they only talk about it social media instead of watching.

C.M. Punk talked about the shift in what WWE's looking for in a superstar. I'm glad they've made that shift. It was long due.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I don't know how it works for WWE as far as wrestling for Main Event and Smackdown during one taping, but a talent is paid the same for a promo as for a match. It would be insane to have to calculate that into the deal when they can just pay them whether they're used that night or not. It's more about where you are on the card than how long your match is. Main eventers make more than midcarders, generally speaking. Talents also get paid for royalties if I'm not mistaken, so when they're on a DVD, they're paid extra for material that's already been taped and aired. Even if they're working elsewhere now.

2. It sounds like that's what GFW's going to be doing. I think we could also see TNA go in that direction, although I think it's pretty risky to book around talents who might not be there in two months. I wouldn't blame the company if they dropped some more people from contracts who they do only use here and there.

3. This is an angle that has helped a lot of younger talents get a shine. Obviously only one person can win it, but people have been kicking out of Attitude Adjustments and going quite some time with him. I have no complaints with it at all as long as it results in a big career-making moment for someone like Owens. It'd be different if he was dusting people off in eight minutes.

4. I was a big fan of his on NXT, but I don't think I saw him being this good or successful. I do think he's in the right environment now to be a success. There's no way WWE was going to mold him like that. I wonder what other talented people would be so much more in a different environment?

5. Reaction was a pop fly caught by the shortstop. The production values were quite good, but it was really boring. It failed in the ratings despite following Impact and even including some matches. I think it's pretty telling we haven't seen it since that trial run, even internationally. As for Roode, I definitely think he was great as heel champion. Hogan more or less ended being up right about turning him, so I'm not too salty. I did think it was total BS at the time, given Hogan's public comments on Roode.

More wrestling tomorrow.
