Edge to make appearances for WWE, correction on QWEST Wrestling story, more on Arn in the HoF, Questions on booking heels stronger, wearing title belts around the waist, a new Nation of Domination or Doom, and (of course) Punk's promo, Punk makes controversial remarks to Australian fan, JBL talks winning the WWE Title, his character, and more, and a short Rey interview

Edge will be featured at WWE's Summerslam Axxess signing autographs and the like. I haven't heard much about him lately other than him appearing on some SyFy shows.

In an update to a previous story, QWEST Wrestling is actually NOT backed by Team 3D or their Academy; it's just using talent that graduated from there.

Chris Jericho and William Regal concurred with Randy Orton about Arn Anderson deserving a spot in the Hall of Fame. Pretty sure I've heard Regal use that last line on commentary.

PWInsider.com has new questions up. Nothing to add to #1, so I'm skipping it.
2. I think size does have a good deal to do with it. Here's another way I look at it: John Cena's been a consistent main eventer for years now, with some pretty big clean wins to his name. Miz has just now worked his way up the ranks to main event status. It wouldn't be very believable for someone who had trouble in U.S. Title matches with someone as comparatively low on the totem pole as Daniel Bryan to be able to strongly and consistently beat John Cena. He was "lucky" to cash in MITB when he did. So, while I think he could be booked better, I don't think it'd be believable for him to be pushed as someone as credible as Batista, Taker, or Triple H. At least not yet. It takes time for someone to be bought as at that level.

After the break, I go into the rest of the day's answers and news, starting with why champions don't wear their titles as belts.

3. I suppose some of it could stem from the WWE edict that they're not "belts", they're championships. So they might not want the talent wearing them like belts? That's a guess on my part, though. It could also be because it's easier to get a close-up shot of a champion with their title when they're holding it or have it over their shoulder. Also a guess. I don't know if WWE tells them how to hold it or if it's up to the individual talent. The "over the shoulder" thing has been pretty prevalent the last decade or so. I don't think it makes the title look meaningless or anything, but I can see how people would think it makes it look less significant than if it was around their waists.

4. I've seen this idea thrown around a couple of times by fans, also involving Sheamus as the "Owen Hart" of the group. I don't see any reason why they should. Those gimmicks are pretty ancient by wrestling fan standards.

5. It was six of one and a half-dozen of the other. In other words, he was told to go out there and cut a promo, but apparently the verbiage was all his. Yes, he's amazing on the mic and as a performer. As for their response, WWE's actually aware that PG doesn't mean ignoring adults. Vince McMahon mentioned it in a recent conference call... that that website even covered! I'm not sure what they specifically dislike about the product that they attribute to it being PG now. I'd like the product to be a little more edgy, but it's not like Hornswoggle segments and John Cena saying "poopy" are a weekly occurrence.

Speaking of non-PG comments from C.M. Punk, he had a number of less-than-friendly things to say to a fan at a recent Raw house show. Be a star, Punk! Playing a heel for a crowd is one thing, but this was a little much.

Update: TMZ.com picked up the story which later was commented upon by WWE and Punk. I'm glad Punk apologized. Depending on how big this story gets, it might be all the more reason for him to "take some time off" after MITB.

Kevin Sullivan has another unused excerpt from his WWE Championship book, this time with JBL. Pretty cool stuff. I was one of those guys who didn't think Cena was ready to be champion at the time. It's happened a number of times someone's been pushed to that level.

Finally, Rey Mysterio was part of a brief story in Adelaide, Australia.

That's all for Monday's news. I'll be back with more tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
