Query on Gallows-WWE, Morgan injured, what happened after Raw, Questions on Mr. Anderson, wrestlers keeping their gimmick names, and Punk vs. Del Rio, Santino injured, update on JR. WWE-Final Destination tie-in, Punk on Kimmel, plenty of Miz this week, Smackdown rating, "Death Clutch" review, new Punk t-shirt available, WWE Title interviews with Slaughter and Stone Cold, a look at Punk's difficult time on the ECW brand, TNA signs another X-Division participant, Sin Cara update, Raw rating, Smackdown dark match, Punk back on the road for WWE, and house show guest host changes

Query of the day:
1. I haven't seen anything about Luke Gallows returning to WWE, or Colt Cabana/Scotty Goldman for that matter. It would make sense as part of Punk's current storyline, but as far as I know nothing's in the works in either of those cases.

Matt Morgan has a torn pectoral muscle which is expected to keep him out of action for at least six weeks. I see Morgan as someone pretty close to main event status, so hopefully when he comes back we can see him get a bigger push. If he had better mic skills or a manager, I think he could be a pretty big deal in TNA.

After Raw went off the air, C.M. Punk told the crowd in Virginia that he was back, in a similar way to the Poltergeist line.

As for PWInsider.com's questions, I don't have anything to add to #1, so after the break I'll move on to why WWE hasn't gone after Mr. Anderson for using a similar gimmick to his WWE persona.

2. I honestly don't remember the last time WWE went after anyone for using a WWE-owned gimmick (as long as their name was changed). I really only remember them doing that when WCW was bringing in ex-WWF guys (and causing a big dent in Raw's ratings in the process). So, they might not want to give TNA any free publicity to use against them as a big corporate giant going after the #2 company. And it would add to Anderson's rebellious character who was ticked at the way WWE "misused" him.

3. I was going to say that Hulk Hogan had that as his legal name, but apparently not. Chyna's the only name that jumps to mind.

4. I don't know how willing the fans would be to support Punk as a face in his current role (outside of the anti-establishment crowd), but down the line I think that would be pretty awesome. Two fantastic men on the mic and in the ring.

5 specifically deals with them, so there's nothing for me to add.

Santino Marella suffered a broken news during a match taped for Superstars. I hope he gets well soon! I think he should come back with a ridiculous-looking mask like Joey Mercury had.

Jim Ross' return to the announce table is currently planned as a permanent change. That's very surprising given his comments over the years about not wanting to return to the road full-time. But, he's a company guy, and there are definitely plenty of people who want him to be the voice of Raw. It's currently unknown how this will affect his duties as a talent evaluator.

Final Destination 5 is sponsoring clips of The Undertaker's career at WWE.com. Pretty fitting!

C.M. Punk appeared on some vignettes on Jimmy Kimmel Live recently.

Here's a list of non-WWE appearances The Miz is making this week.

This past week's Smackdown jumped up to a 1.89 for Christian's first show as the new World Champion and Orton vs. Kane in a Street Fight. That's a pretty good sign.

Here's a review of Brock Lesnar's autobiography from the Bismarck Tribune.

Because WWE is now aware that C.M. Punk = $$$, they have his new shirt available at WWEShop.com.

There are more excerpts cut from the WWE Championship book out now, from Sgt. Slaughter and Stone Cold. Slaughter's one of many who weren't Warrior fans if WWE's DVD is any indication. And that Smoking Skull belt was really iconic. I loved it and the idea in general. I wouldn't mind if Punk got his own title, come to think of it, since he did say he wanted to change the current one.

The former head writer for WWE's ECW brand talked about the troubles behind the scenes with getting Punk over. I don't rag on WWE often, but here's one time they deserve it: they can be terrible when it comes to pushing stars that they don't "get" the popularity of. It shouldn't matter that Vince doesn't understand some of these characters. There's a big generational gap that exists; it's going to happen. Paul Burchill got over with a goofy pirate gimmick, but they killed that because Vince didn't know about the heavily successful Pirates of the Caribbean movies that were out. That bears repeating: a character was successful at getting the crowd behind them, and they got rid of it because they didn't understand why.

Anyway, Punk was getting over despite Creative, basically. Shawn Michaels had the right idea there and I wish more people would understand what he understood at that meeting. Why bring in someone, involve them in storylines, etc. then try to fire them when they're doing their jobs well!?

TNA has signed Zema Ion, who worked with the company recently while involved with Destination X. I wonder how they'll explain him being signed when he didn't win the contract match? I was somewhat unimpressed with him, but haven't seen enough of him to make much of a judgment on him.

Sin Cara is still being advertised for October's tour of Mexico, so WWE isn't presently thinking of releasing him.

Raw drew a 3.2 rating on Monday night, going from a 3.0 in hour 1 to a 3.4 in hour 2. They built up to the main event pretty well, and it was a big main event, so that and Triple H's State of WWE Address were successful in getting people interested.

FCW's Hunico beat Justin Gabriel in the dark match before Smackdown. Maybe they're testing who they want to put on NXT Season 6?

C.M. Punk is being advertised for this weekend's Raw live events and upcoming Raw tapings, but not any other house shows or PPVs.

Dusty Rhodes will now be the guest host of a 9/23 Raw house show. Taking his place on the 9/24 Smackdown house show will be Vickie Guerrero. I guess they're playing off the Guerrero-Texas connection there, since otherwise I'd figure she'd be paired with Dolph Ziggler.

That's all for Tuesday's news. More to come tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
