Query on a Trish Stratus return, wrestlers react to Money In The Bank, Questions on blading, Chris Benoit in WWE media, TNA's ratings in the UK, having one World Title in America, and the Raw GM, Impact Wrestling rating, C.M. Punk tours with the WWE Title, Sin Cara suspended for Wellness violation, Australian Raw rating, Matt Morgan undergoes MRIs, real and fictional MITB injuries, title match announced for Smackdown, WWE writer "apologizes" to John Laurinaitis, Santino and Kozlov on a roller coaster, Cena comments on potential "firing", Punk to talk again, Smackdown rating, Perry Saturn YouShoot released, Joey Styles to return to announcing, and more house shows in Mexico

Someone asked the blog about a rumored return match for Trish Stratus against Kelly Kelly at Summerslam. I haven't heard anything to suggest that that's going down or is even being talked about. If I see anything about it, I'll be sure to report it.

A number of wrestlers sounded off about Punk vs. Cena and MITB in general:
This link has responses from Kevin Nash, Mick Foley, The Rock, Stone Cold, Trish Stratus (who won the Women's Championship in her final match at the time a number of years back), Sean Waltman, Seth Rollins, Joey Styles, and Chavo Guerrero (who previously criticized Cena's ring ability).
Paul Heyman also commented. Punk has "it", that's for sure.
Chris Jericho, Matt Hardy, Bret Hart, and JR spoke about it, too.

PWInsider.com has some new questions up to examine:
1. That's the first I've heard of that one. I've heard of people keeping condoms or balloons full of blood in their mouths, though, to bite when they need to be "bleeding from the mouth". Keeping a blade there sounds like a good way to be seriously hurt.

2. I think he was in the WWE Encyclopedia as well. It's mainly a case of them not advertising him, I think. If they feel that something he's in is historically significant enough, sometimes he'll be in. Just don't expect a best of Benoit DVD or anything of the sort from them.

After the break, I look at why TNA beats WWE in the ratings in the UK, and everything else that's newsworthy from the day.

3. I actually wasn't aware of/had forgotten that. That's why it's helpful when ratings are presented as percentages instead of just as numbers of viewers. Glad that the UK's on the same wavelength there.

4. Wait, you said major companies. Why are ROH and NWA in the mix? Seriously, I wouldn't consider them major companies without a national TV presence. And I'd actually consider WWE to have 2 World Champions, one for each brand. But for the sake of this argument, we'll say it's the WWE Champion vs. the TNA Champion vs. the ROH Champion vs. the NWA Champion. I'd imagine that WWE would send Cena, despite his current storyline (though I'm not sure how they'd work that one out), TNA would likely send Sting, and no matter who the other companies send, most of the audience isn't going to know who they are. They might not even know those companies exist. So, the final's Cena vs. Sting, because neither WWE or TNA is likely to have their top guy lose to a virtual unknown (from the perspective of the majority of the viewers). I don't see how Cena wouldn't go over, as the biggest cash cow of the four. This is assuming that WWE would even allow their top guy to compete with people who aren't close to his level of exposure. It'd be a gift to the other 3 companies to be associated with the top brand in the business.

5. It's Rikishi, who did it for The Rock. He's also Vince McMahon's actual son, and dropped the Million Dollar Mania set on him. Or maybe it's Norman Smiley, being promoted from the position of FCW GM. Or maybe they have just as little idea as we do.

The hyped "Midsummer's Nightmare" edition of Impact Wrestling did a 1.19 rating. That feels somewhat disappointing for a show that was promoted a good deal and featured a World Title match involving one of the most interesting characters in wrestling right now. Of course, that segment might have performed well and been dragged down by other parts of the show.

Wondering where C.M. Punk was last night with the WWE Title? It was in his refrigerator, presumably in reference to all the "putting _____ in the fridge" jokes/references on the internet recently. It's a little hard to describe, but those who "got" it like me had a pretty good laugh over the matter.

Update: TMZ.com has a photo gallery of C.M. Punk partying in Chicago after his WWE Title win. Colt Cabana and Ace Steel assisted in the celebrations.

Update: More photos have surfaced of Punk taking the title to the Cubs game.

WWE suspended Sin Cara for 30 days due to a violation of the company's Wellness policy. Way to screw up your push. I'm pretty disappointed here. I really hope this cloud has a silver lining, and it results in Sin Cara coming back better than he's leaving both mentally and physically to continue his ascension up the WWE ladder.

Update: Cara actually failed the test last month, but the company waited to write him off until the PPV. I can see why they went that route (and I seem to remember them doing it at least once previously), but this is a dangerous precedent to set. What's to stop them from waiting as long as they'd like to suspend someone, such as when they're injured?

I'd be pretty ticked about the whole thing if I was in WWE. He comes into the company as a big signing, skips FCW training, and has quite a bit of awkwardness in the ring to the extent that they draft him to the taped show to cover his mistakes. Despite this, he's given a pretty nice push, and gets to stay on for almost an entire month after failing a drug test. Not to mention that he doesn't even speak English well enough to cut a promo yet.

Raw got 21,000 viewers in Australia this past week, to put it #97 on the Top 100 shows there. No other wrestling show made the list.

Matt Morgan posted on Twitter that he had 2 MRIs on Monday. Hopefully the results were good.

There thankfully weren't any serious injuries at Money In The Bank. Alberto Del Rio got a scratch on his chest and a cut on his head, but everyone else was fine. Well, as fine as you can be following what they went through.

However, in storyline, Big Show and Sin Cara were both injured at the event. Show is said to be out 6-8 weeks, while Cara will miss the slightly longer than 4 weeks that he's been suspended for.

Ezekiel Jackson will face Cody Rhodes for the Intercontinental Championship on Smackdown. That should be good in its own way.

In another link of this crazy mix of reality and storyline, WWE writer Craig Tello apologized for the terminology used to describe John Laurinaitis' actions at Money In The Bank. The piece in question insinuated that Laurinatis was out to "screw" Punk out of the title.

Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov rode a big roller coaster in Green Bay before Raw. I can forgive the lack of vignettes on that appearance based on how big of a deal Raw was this week.

John Cena took to Twitter for the next part of his storyline following MITB (this was before Raw). This whole thing's awesome. I don't know what sparked the current "spicing up" of the product and online integration, but I'm loving it.

C.M. Punk will be on the "BS Report" hosted by ESPN's Bill Simmons later this week.

Smackdown drew a 1.72 on Friday night. The show could certainly use a boost right now, especially with Sin Cara having to take time off.

A lengthy no-holds-barred interview with Perry Saturn has been released today as part of the popular "YouShoot" series. Here are details on it. I'll definitely have to catch that one.

Joey Styles will be returning to announcing on Thursday, which I was under the impression that he'd never do again. I'm curious as to where that leads, because unless he's signed a new one and it hasn't been reported, he's not under a talent contract to the company like he was when he was a commentator.

More WWE house shows have been announced for Mexico this October. Hopefully Sin Cara will be on the up-and-up for them.

That's all for Monday's news. More to come tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
