Interviews with EY/JR, obsessed-over wrestlers, Punk update, more NXT merch, HHH talks NXT, another Smackdown visitor, Takeover dark match and guests, other NXT notes and Questions on Punk returning, Dixie turning face, Devitt in WWE, Vince in charge and the price of the WWE Network

Eric Young made the rounds promoting his new show on Animal Planet, including some TNA talk. I'm glad he's getting outside publicity, but will it help TNA for him to be champ?

A lot of wrestling personalities made TIME's list of heavily-searched living names online. Very fascinating! Other wrestlers rank as well.

An article on C.M. Punk lists him as retired from WWE. He's still officially under contract for another month and a half or so. I love Punk, but WWE can't force him to compete (nor should they). He had an amazing run, but it looks like it's over now. While we should all remember all the great stuff he's done in his career, it's time to turn our attention to the next generation of stars.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Jim Ross talked about Chicago wrestling memories and more. I think Philadelphia belongs on the wrestling city Mt. Rushmore, too. Then maybe Montreal? As for the situation with Al Snow, I think that was a rib cooked up by (who else?) Mick Foley. He talks about it in one of his books.

WWE removed C.M. Punk from advertising from a July event. It was probably a mistake to have him listed there in the first place.

WWE has added merchandise for a number of NXT talents. There's finally an official "SAWFT" shirt! NXT's profile is really growing and I think it could really be on the map down the line.

Here are a few highlights from a Twitter Q&A with Triple H ahead of NXT Takeover. Stop when his answers stop if you value your sanity. Sami Zayn's definitely my pick to bring up next.

Jake Roberts was visiting at the most recent Smackdown taping. I hope he's still doing really well.

Bayley beat Sasha Banks in the dark match for NXT Takeover. Bayley makes sense as a challenger for Charlotte. I recommend watching the event.

Camacho's father Haku and SoCal Val were in attendance at NXT Takeover. That's pretty cool.

Takeover was received well backstage, which is nice.

Batista and Eva Marie are advertised for the 6/12 NXT taping. Batista lives nearby. He'll still be taking time off from the main roster.

WWE and Full Sail have now been working together for two years. I think it's been a great collaboration.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I'm pretty much going on the assumption we won't be seeing Punk in a wrestling context anytime soon. We can fantasy book all the return scenarios in the world, but the chances of it are pretty low.

2. I wouldn't put it past TNA to followup Dixie vs. MVP with Dixie vs. MVP, but I think they'll both stay heels for the time being. They have an uneasy alliance at the moment where they still don't really get along but have common enemies. But everything's constantly changing with TNA's current booking, so I can't say for sure we won't get that scenario.

3. Officially signed, you say? I believe he still has to get things approved with his work visa. I don't think it's a bad idea for him to work NXT for a while (or at least dark matches) so he can kind of get his feet wet in the WWE way of doing things. I'd have to see more of him to say more than that.

4. That's not a bad theory, but I think it was more due to projections of WWE being undervalued compared to NASCAR, etc. I continue to think it's worth considering for Vince to give up some responsibilities. WWE needs to be preparing the people who will take over when he's no longer in the picture.

5. I think all options are open in that regard. Right now, they need to be most concerned with growing subscriber counts here and internationally. It definitely feels like a steal and they might indeed have priced it too low given their financial outlook for this year and next year.

More wrestling tomorrow.
