Interviews with Goldberg/JR/Batista, Superstars update, HHH talks NXT, special guests at Slammiversary, WWE Magazine slips up, Raw audience and Questions on the "what" chant, Stone Cold as guest host and Taker's last match

Goldberg talked about potentially coming back to the ring, the end of WCW and more. It does feel like people overlook the AOL-Time Warner merger when looking at WCW's demise. Obviously WCW was losing a lot of money at the time and there were poor decisions made creatively, but there's a corporate side to things, too.

Jim Ross talked about his announcing style and more. I think there's a reason JR's passionate commentary is remembered more in a positive way than what we hear today. I liked JR's ideas for the perfect wrestler.

WWE Superstars will air on Friday this week due to NXT Takeover being in that timeslot this time. I'm OK with that.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Triple H had a conference call ahead of NXT Takeover.
- I don't think NXT specials need to be monthly (otherwise they're not special), but I do hope we see them every so often! Quarterly works for me.

- I also think using people from the main roster is a good move. It depends on the talent, but generally so far it's worked well for NXT.

- I'm glad NXT has been so successful. I hope that continues.

- Way to go, Meltzer, for asking something completely unrelated to NXT.

- The change in training down in NXT has been great.

- Nice rib on Meltzer by HHH about KENTA and Devitt. Of course Meltzer's going to ask about the Japanese guys...

Batista talked about his return at the Royal Rumble. I hope the issues there are remedied for the future.

Ross and Marshall Von Erich are booked for a tag match at TNA Slammiversary. Their father Kevin Von Erich will be in town for the event, too. Ross and Marshall have experience working Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan. I would assume this is a one-time gig at this point, but TNA could definitely use another tag team.

An interview with Dean Ambrose in WWE Magazine referred to Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns as his "former partners". Obviously it was done when the plan was to split up The Shield. I'm glad WWE changed their minds.

Raw pulled in 3.60 million viewers on Monday, down more than 150,000 from the previous week. Daniel Bryan being out of the main event picture isn't doing WWE any favors.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. They've been around so long there's probably a good part of the audience who doesn't know who started the chants.

2. I think it'd make more sense for WrestleMania 32 in Texas.

3. Yes and no. It's not a World Championship like the TNA World Title or WWE World Title, but it is a title that's been defended around the globe.

4. It's all about what the story involved is. If it's to elevate a new star, sure. Losing to Sting wouldn't really do anything for either side since it would probably be Sting's last match, too.

5. WWE does like to get a lot of mileage out of its phrases.

More wrestling tomorrow.
