Main Event Reax - 5/6/14, notes from Raw taping, Rosebuds identified, Rusev update, WWE tribute to recently-deceased fan, Interviews with Gunner/JR, Raw audience and Questions on ROH vs. ECW, Punk staying, Sheik's Twitter, WWE going PG and turning Cena heel

Main Event:
Well, that ending was something! Rose is catching my attention with the character. I hope he has the in-ring chops to back it up, because it's pretty entertaining. The action between Swagger and Ziggler was pretty solid. I hope both of them break through the glass ceiling in the future. Ziggler's only 33 after all.

That was kind of an odd post-match, but perfect for the Rose character. I like what I'm seeing so far.

That was a good Divas' match that will probably ultimately not mean much of anything. But hey, at least they got some screen time.

I couldn't care much less about a Natalya/Cameron feud. Unless it leads to one of them challenging Paige, that is.

That was a good match between two former Intercontinental Champions. Goldust still has gas in the tank. I hope we get that awesome Cody/Goldust feud we've been teased about for a few years now.

Ehhhh.... not a great promo from Cena, but he's definitely done a lot worse. He just feels so paint-by-numbers now.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Here are some live notes from Monday's Raw taping, including spoilers for Superstars. That's kind of funny about Bryan vs. Del Rio going to the stage so they could set up Kane's promo. The situation was kind of unavoidable I think.

Those with Adam Rose on Monday were all local independent names and models. I imagine that will be the trend going forward.

In addition to now being billed as being from Russia, Rusev will now just go by his last name. It's kind of silly for someone to just have a last name (or first name for that matter).

WWE did another anti-bullying speech with the Bellas going to a school. That's always great to see.

WWE put together a video for a fan who recently passed away from brain cancer. That's one of the most touching things I've ever seen. Just... wow.

Gunner talked about re-signing with TNA and more. I can easily see him being TNA Champion within the next year.

Jim Ross talked about famous moments from his career. I'd love to read an autobiography from him.

Lana's reference to Vladimir Putin was picked up again. I'm glad the gimmick's getting attention now. Hopefully Rusev is a big hit.

Raw's audience this week was 4.28 million, a notable hit from the previous week. That's a shame after the really big PPV the night before.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Yeah, I think both companies set up stars for bigger successes elsewhere. Of course, a lot of that has to do with the talents themselves using that platform for the best.

2. That sounds logical. He was still really burned out and could have still left when his contract expired, though.

3. Sheik's made quite the career resurgence for himself with his outbursts, that's for sure.

4. All of the above as well as feeling they'd gone as far as they could with Attitude Era-style content. It's important to note Vince only went away from the softer content of the '80s because competition from WCW made him try new things. And they have sponsors now who wouldn't have touched them in the Attitude Era due to the risque content.

5. That's a great message to send to kids: when your supporters abandon you to join a crazy, manipulative cult leader, just give in! Screw that "fight for what's right" crap! There is still no compelling reason to turn Cena heel. I'd save that trick for when WWE REALLY needs to shake things up. Right now, they've got a lot of new things going on with debuts, turns, pushes and the Streak ending. Cena turning heel wouldn't have the maximum impact it would have if WWE was ever in a case where business was struggling and they were out of other major options to spice things up.

More wrestling tomorrow.
