More TNA-NYC notes, Bret Hart looks at 1992, new TNA signing gets press, Taker making public appearance, Sting at Summerslam panel, WM30 special audience, Interview with Heyman, WWE Magazine note, Raw host, NoC poster, Smackdown audience and Questions on Nikki vs. Brie, the Russo leak, Authority stooges, TNA-Spike and the Network in the UK

TNA will tape Hardcore Justice on August 5. In addition to Low Ki vs. Samoa Joe, the show will feature a "Stairway to Janice" match between Bram and Abyss. That's definitely an ECW throwback. I'm curious to see what they book for the NYC tapings in what could be their last shows on Spike (and possibly on U.S. TV).

Bret Hart looked at 1992 in WWF. It's cool to see his thoughts on that time period. I think he'll be getting heat from a number of people for that one. It really looks like an interview worth checking out.

NBC's Today Show promoted TNA's signing of Chris Melendez ahead of the next NYC tapings. How many wrestling fans watch that show? Either way, TNA could use the promotion ahead of those shows.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

The Undertaker will be at the October 3 WizardWorld. I honestly don't remember the last time he did a convention appearance. I don't even think he generally does AXXESS. That's how important his public persona has been to him. I think we're moving toward a time when he's ready to leave his wrestling gimmick behind. We're not there just yet, but it's coming. Taker going into the Hall of Fame ahead of WrestleMania 32 in Texas seems logical.

TNA has declared Thursday National Put Your Boss Through A Table Day. They're making the most of that angle. They pretty much have to given their current situation.

Sting has been added to one of WWE's Summerslam panels. I think it's only a matter of time before he's announced for an in-ring appearance. I don't see how they don't have him headline the Hall of Fame in 2015.

WWE's WM30 special on NBC got 3.90 million viewers. That's quite the number, up from recent years.

Paul Heyman talked about his new DVD and more. I'm glad he doesn't just try to live on what he did in ECW and spend his life focused on that.

WWE Magazine is expected to put out its last edition this October. It's definitely a sign of the times and of WWE's financial situation. An era is ending in a way with the magazine disappearing.

Hulk Hogan is hosting next week's Raw. I really hope he's involved with the Rusev/Swagger angle. That's about the only way I want to see him used.

WWE has released the poster for Night of Champions. WWE barely has any champions at this point. It'll be even fewer if Brock wins the title and isn't on that PPV.

Smackdown's audience Friday was 2.71 million. That's barely down from the previous week.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I can definitely see a Nikki turn coming. As for "getting exactly what you expected", that's not inherently a bad thing. Some really dumb, bad swerves get booked when they do the other way just to mess with the fans. I do think they need a swerve here and there, but not just because fans who have watched for a really long time will be shocked. Their target audience has generally not been watching nearly that long and isn't as burned out with "predictability". Nikki turning could actually fall into the random swerve category, since there hasn't been any tease of a turn.

2. If Johnson withheld the information of Russo confirming working for TNA, it would call into question his credibility to a degree. He's under no obligation to "protect" Russo or TNA. He's not TNA's PR team. He's an independent journalist.

3. I think it could water down the Authority by pairing them with retired wrestlers. That said, it could be entertaining and those guys could be fodder for anyone feuding with HHH, Orton, Rollins or Kane.

4. I don't know if he'd really add to negotiations. It's not like Spike doesn't know Bischoff works there.

5. This shines a light on just how complicated the Network is. I think it will probably just be the same content as the U.S. version, but that remains to be seen. It would be pretty neat if the U.K. version had more U.K.-related content while the Canadian version had more Canadian content and all that.

More wrestling tomorrow.
