What happened after Summerslam, Summerslam guests, Current WWE star on AAA iPPV, other AAA notes (Del Rio and Jarrett), Interviews with Bryan/Cena/WWE caterer/Del Rio, Team 3D contract updates, Richards injury updates, TNA exec departure official, Summerslam notes, more on Hardy's wish, more ice buckets, RVD note, Smackdown audience and Questions on heat between legends, Arsenio in the HoF, Cesaro post-Mania, heels vs. faces and ring music

The Summerslam crowd chanted "Thank you, Lesnar" and sang "Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye" to John Cena after his loss. I can't blame them! I do think that was a time the Cena character earned some sympathy, but it was SO LONG overdue. He's almost always protected in losses and getting his heat back that it's started a lot of backlash.

Mike Tyson, Eve Torres and Maryse were all visiting at Summerslam. UFC's Jon Jones was in the crowd. Eve's still on pretty good terms with WWE. I hope she comes back at some point (as a wrestler, not an actress), but not right now.

Rey Mysterio appeared via video on AAA's TripleMania, saying he would see the fans soon. The video ended with "#FreeRey", a reference to Rey trying to get out of his current WWE contract. I don't picture WWE being too happy with that, but that's kind of the point. His deal will definitely be up by the time of next year's show, but it's possible he gets out of it before then. Punk had to technically wait for his deal to expire before he was a free man, too.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
AAA used Alberto Del Rio's WWE music and graphic in his debut as El Patron. He appeared with his father Dos Caras and cut an anti-WWE promo. He also probably doesn't care too much about what WWE thinks of him at this point.

Update: Here's an English translation of the former Del Rio's promo. That's one hell of a babyface, from-the-heart promo.

Jeff Jarrett was unable to make TripleMania because of issues with flights. That's a shame. Will Del Rio and Rey end up as part of GFW? Del Rio's unable to wrestle in the States for a year, but that wouldn't prevent them from having him wrestle elsewhere.

Daniel Bryan talked about his recovery, facing BROCK LESNAR and more. I want to see a fully-healed Bryan vs. Lesnar BAD.

John Cena talked about potentially facing Sting, his next feud and more. I think we're in for Cena vs. Rollins next, but Cena and Cesaro do always have great matches. I'm glad Cena has some fresh names to work with.

Bully Ray's contract expires sometime before September 5, the date of the next TNA live event. He's one of the most powerful people in the company politically given his tenure. The two sides are still negotiating, but he could easily be gone before Team 3D's scheduled induction into the TNA Hall of Fame. This strikes me as similar to what happened with Hogan leaving last year. There are some big holes in the TNA ship right now.

Devon's contract expires some time in the fall. I suspect his last date is either Bound For Glory or shortly afterward. It will be really interesting to see what they do with him if Bully Ray leaves. I could see him being paired with Eddie Edwards for a bit while Davey recovers. It would make sense in a way.

Davey Richards says he'll be back in TNA in four-to-six weeks. That's quite optimistic, but he's a determined individual. If he is able to compete at Bound For Glory, maybe we could get The Wolves vs. The Hardys vs. Devon and Tommy Dreamer.

Update: Tigre Uno is replacing Richards for The Wolves' Wrestle-1 dates. That should work well.

TNA executive Rafael Mori has officially finished with the company after giving notice a few weeks back. Mori was quite well-respected among the wrestlers there. It's entirely possible Mori would have left regardless of TNA's current position (like Don West years back), but this will definitely get lumped in with the rest of TNA's bad news.

There have been reported issues of streams dropping out from those ordering Summerslam. When is that not the case?

Ahead of Summerslam, Ryback talked about his diet, including going into the legendary Panera Bread story. He's a freak of nature when it comes to eating. It's disappointing Bill DeMott got away with striking Ryback.

Alberto Del Rio gave an interview about what led to his WWE termination. I hope there are some ramifications for this. Del Rio wasn't the only one who was unprofessional there. I hope he makes millions of pesos in AAA.

Jeff Hardy's granted wish was covered. That is pretty awesome.

There were two other stories done on WWE stars and food: one about catering and one specifically about wrestlers' favorite foods. The catering read was actually really fascinating.

Quite a few WWE performers have taken the ice bucket challenge. That's great of them!

This week's TV tapings could be the last dates for RVD's current deal. He's actually stayed on about a month longer than I expected.

TMZ caught up with Paul Heyman and his client, BROCK LESNAR after Summerslam. I wonder how many more years he'll do the part-time thing.

Smackdown's audience Friday night was 2.56 million. Don't expect the new WWE Champion to appear there.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I'm very glad they were professional about it. But yeah, they were there for a one-time paycheck in a minor role. I don't think they've necessarily buried the hatchet.

2. I wouldn't be surprised to see it at some point. They love inducting celebrities.

3. Cesaro was definitely poised to break out as a babyface and I think they missed a chance there. They obviously wanted Swagger to be the face vs. Rusev and Heyman needed something to do, so that's how we got Cesaro with Heyman. It was an odd fit as far as the face/heel dynamic goes. I'm not sure what they should have done differently, since both Heyman and Cesaro needed something to do. Maybe Heyman should have gone back with RybAxel and tried to work his magic on them?

4. "Great matches" don't inherently draw better than heated face/heel encounters. Vince doesn't see his audience as people who care about "five-star" matches as much as people who will buy a lot of merchandise.

5. That's a cool question. I think Jim Johnston belongs in the Hall of Fame for a lot of his work. Steve Austin's definitely a good one, Ric Flair's fits quite well, Zack Ryder's is a guilty pleasure... there's some great stuff there. I hated Right to Censor's music, but that was the point of it.

More wrestling tomorrow.
