DDP update, assorted WWE notes, '80s UK name passes, TNA audience, Interview with London, another rumored Hall of Famer, Riley update, and Questions on pushing Reigns, X-Pac in the WWE Hall, and Ryback as WWE Champion

DDP gave an update on his health. It sounds like he's doing better for the most part, which is quite good news. I hope surgery goes well.

Sami Zayn is doing promotion for WWE in the UAE. I hope he's on the main roster in 2015.

Set for Friday's Impact Wrestling:
- Lashley and Kurt Angle vs. MVP and Samoa Joe
- Awesome Kong vs. Madison Rayne
- Ethan Carter III and Tyrus vs. Rockstar Spud, Mandrews, and Jeremy Borash
- Bram vs. Crazzy Steve
- Bobby Roode vs. Austin Aries
- The return of a former champion

There's some good stuff there.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

TNA will be taping a multitude of One Night Only PPVs at Universal Studios this coming week.
This could include some non-TNA names. Those events can be pretty fun at times.

Sheamus was backstage at Raw. I imagine he'll be involved in a match at WM31, possibly as a heel.

British name Drew McDonald passed away yesterday after a battle with cancer. He worked for Stampede Wrestling and on European tours for WCW before becoming a teacher. Paige was one of his students. His legacy will be remembered.

Update: Paige had his name written on her arm during Raw. That's cool.

TNA's Lockdown special drew 525,000 viewers. They're really improving.

Paul London talked about his current work on the indie scene. I do kind of miss him in WWE and TNA. He was a really good Cruiserweight/X-Division guy.

WWE is rumored to be inducting Larry Zbyszko into the Hall of Fame this year. He was the final AWA Champion, trained under Bruno Sammartino. I think that's a great idea!

Sting wasn't at Raw. They used extras instead. It was probably much cheaper that way. It's weird to see Sting vs. HHH in 2015.

Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns will go face-to-face on Smackdown. A lot of people are going to be paying attention to how Fastlane's booked.

Alex Riley was once more replaced by David Otunga on the Raw pre-game show. He's been training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. I hope we see him in the ring again. He'd be perfect for the Miz/Mizdow angle.

The Usos are expected to induct Rikishi into the WWE Hall of Fame. Him going in could be a good setup for a feud between them and The Ascension if WWE wants to go that route.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. It's a lot of factors, I think. Him not being the likes of Ambrose, Rollins, or Bryan -- three guys who busted their asses for years on the indie scene and have done incredible things in WWE -- is chief among them. It's obvious WWE is trying to give him the rub from working with his former Shield members. It's also obvious a lot of fans prefer other names.

2. I think he could go in as part of DX and/or the nWo. I know he's welcomed back into the WWE fold after turning his life around. You can't say the same for Chyna yet.

3. He'd still likely have detractors, only with him gone we got to see Ambrose step up. I think fans resent his push more than anything.

4. I'm not sure why that course of action seems obvious, even though it could very well be what they do. I think it would definitely backfire if they try to imply Reigns is better than Bryan. I don't see any way that flies with a lot of fans.

5. I don't see any reason for him to be champion yet, at least not ahead of Rollins, Ambrose, Bryan, Ziggler, or Bray.

More wrestling tomorrow.
