Query on WWE spring cleaning, live event notes, Interview with BNB, big venture for Flair, Tatsu update, TNA name injured, TNA guests, and Questions on Bryan at the Rumble, Tag Team Turmoil, Darren Young on Twitter, booking Fastlane, and changing MITB

First up, a query:
1. I wouldn't assume there will be a "spring cleaning" of releases by WWE this year, especially after the positive results from their recent financial report. I think they're more likely to let some contracts expire and decide not to renew them.

On this weekend's live events:
- Kevin Owens retained the NXT Championship against Adrian Neville

- Darren Young beat Titus O'Neil

- Sasha Banks was on the losing side of a six-Diva tag.

With some of the big names on the Middle East tour, WWE was more likely to give some other names a chance to shine. It's cool to see Owens, Neville, and Banks get that opportunity. As for Young, I don't know how much they'll push him after the recent incident on Twitter.

Update: Here's a live report from that show. Cena was just on the Middle East tour, so I can see why he wasn't at that event.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Bad News Barrett was interviewed in the UAE:
- Jet lag is no joke. It's amazing what superstars go through.

- I'm surprised Barrett still hasn't been WWE or World Champion. I think he should have won it as part of the Nexus angle. They could have really made him as a heel.

- Funny remark about facing Sheamus at Mania.

- Barrett vs. Reigns and Barrett vs. Wyatt should totally happen at some point. Eventually it will be time to shake things up with Barrett and maybe he'll get some new opponents. I'd really like to see him team with Adrian Neville, but I don't think that's happening. So them feuding would be my next suggestion.

- The Nexus, and Barrett in particular, could have really meant more for those involved. It's a shame they've mostly fallen off the map (with the obvious exception of Bryan).

Ric Flair will do a weekly podcast for CBS Sports. I guess he's got to pay those gimmicks in the mail called bills. I'd love to hear him shill Cougar Life.

Yoshi Tatsu had the halo removed from his head to continue recovering from breaking his neck while taking a Styles Clash. Sounds like he's still got a ways to go. I hope he turns out OK.

Eddie Edwards suffered some kind of foot or ankle injury at a recent TNA PPV taping. He was taken to the hospital. Given how many big matches were taped in a short time, I'm not surprised he got hurt. I can't blame TNA for wanting to tape a lot of content in a short amount of time, and it's possible the injury would have happened regardless, but it's a pretty intense schedule.

Update: It's believed to be a heel injury. The Wolves are easily one of the most important parts of TNA right now, so hopefully he'll be OK by the time they tape more episodes of Impact.

Jessie J was at the Knockouts Knockdown PPV, since Jeremy Borash is friends with members of her band. That's pretty cool. They should have taped her clotheslining one of the Knockouts of lesser importance or something.

Kevin Von Erich was at a taping where his sons wrestled. I wonder if they'll end up as regulars. Ditto for anyone else brought in to work the One Night Only shows.

Here's a live report from a WWE live event this weekend. Using Owens and Neville made sense in the home base of NXT.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. That does sound pretty crazy! I don't even think it's a given Bryan earns his way into the Mania main event. I wouldn't be shocked at all if we're in for Bryan vs. Sheamus or something, despite the fan outrage.

2. They booked that show the way they did because so many talents were overseas for the Middle East tour. I was impressed with Reigns there. I suspect things will be more or less back to normal this week.

3. I think it was mainly a case of him being critical of WWE's decisions on an official WWE account. That kind of thing doesn't really fly in the corporate world.

4. I'd absolutely have Bryan win. Reigns can look good in defeat and be positioned as someone who can be champion someday, but I don't think he can do what Bryan can in that spot. They can have Sheamus return as part of The Authority and cost Reigns the match to set up Sheamus vs. Reigns at Mania if they want an out for Reigns losing.

5. I'd keep MITB as it is. It's a good "get out of jail free" card if a champion gets hurt or they need to shake things up instantly. It adds to the whole "anything can happen in WWE" vibe that used to exist, too. They can use the Elimination Chamber in July to set up the challenger for Summerslam if they want to make use of a gimmick in that situation.

More wrestling tomorrow.
