Impact Wrestling and ROH Reax - 10/7/15

Read on for my thoughts on last night's Impact Wrestling and ROH.

Impact Wrestling:
I guess Billy Corgan is something of an authority figure in kayfabe now?

The World Title Series is interesting in the way car wrecks are interesting. The tournament includes the Knockouts, several people who don't work in TNA anymore, and one person who's suspended, but not the previous World Champ (Matt). This will be weird.

Galloway as champ could be good.

- Bram vs. Galloway:
Nice fight early.

Drew went into Beast Mode there. Good stuff while it lasted.

Nice spin on why the Knockouts are involved. It's because TNA has so few roster members.

- Gail vs. Brooke:
I'm not crazy about all this split-screen action.

Mostly a good match. They both worked really hard.

Funny lampshading of Aries' involvement in the series with EC3.

- Grado vs. Spud:
What in God's name am I watching!?

That was absolutely bonkers. Crazy stuff.

I like the idea of Tyrus getting to pick the bones of the winner due to his BFG win.

- EC3 vs. Aries:
I guess Dixie overrided Aries having to leave TNA. I'm just glad we get to see him again.

Pretty big action here between two talented guys.

Really solid stuff overall to give us another crazy result. I think everyone's just having fun with it at this point.

I liked the post-match. More from Aries please?

Anderson... meh.

- Kong vs. Rayne:
Well that was quick! I'm at least somewhat intrigued by the idea of Kong facing men when she advances.

Good babyface stuff from Lashley.

Oh, maybe we do get to see Matt on these shows. It's whatever at this point. Just go full crazy with it.

- Anderson vs. Lashley:
Lashley's really good.

Good match overall.

ROH:
Oh, I sure did miss Alex Shelley's flippy shit.

- Briscoes vs. Time Splitters:
At least there's some good focusing on the arm. I like seeing that.

The double-teaming here is impressive.

The handspring back elbow always seems like unnecessary showing off.

Kushida has a lot of fire. I'll give him that.

The frog splash/moonsault spot should have ended it. They're at the their capacity for highspots in this match.

Not bad overall. As always, they could have slowed things down and made less more.

Page vs. Jay Briscoe is somewhat exciting given the build to it.

- Strong vs Okada:
A lot of energy, but the needlessly innovative moves hurt it.

I wish big moves like dropping someone on a barricade were saved for when two sides actually had a feud. This is just an exhibition match really.

LESS IS MORE. JESUS. Too many spots.

WWWWWAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY too many big moves not leading to pinfalls.

God. Finally over. This was just showing off cool moves, really.

More wrestling coming up.
