Raw Reax - 10/12/15

Read on for my thoughts on last night's Raw.

Well, at least it looks like Kane's 100% after that bully Seth Rollins hurt him so bad he needed an ambulance. At least the Demon stood up for the World's Greatest Director of Operations.

A show not centered on authority figures would be a nice break for Raw. Imagine if every NBA game featured a long talking segment from Adam Silver.

I like what's going on between Orton and Ambrose. Orton's one of the main veteran characters I think can still contribute in a big way. He's still delivering great work.

I'm kind of glad the faces were cut off when they were.

New Day is SSSSOOOOO fucking based. It's a shame the Dudleys will almost definitely take the belts at HIAC.

If Ambrose and Orton win clean, it would stand to reason they should challenge for the tag team titles if they can get along as champions.

- Big E/Kofi vs. Ambrose/Orton:
Funny stuff with the Garvin Stomp. It's crazy that move was such a big deal at first.

Pretty good stuff so far. Big E and Ambrose in particular are impressive.

Glad the heels won to keep momentum in their corner. It's not like Ambrose and Orton don't still look strong.

Very excited to see Brock mop the floor with Taker, although I wonder where either of them go from there. Taker putting his career on the line at WM32 would be about all they could do to raise the stakes.

Nice to show what the NXT Divas can do!

Wait, we go from showing how awesome Sasha is to putting her at ringside?

- Nikki vs. Naomi:
Both Divas are going hard here. Good work.

I guess the Bellas are trying to split up Team B.A.D.? I think I'd be fine with the factions ending if it means Charlotte, Becky, and Sasha still get a good spotlight.

That was a painful ad spot. There had to have been something better they could have done in that situation. Have Payday sponsor the Divas match or something.

Cena has had some big moments in Chicago, for sure. It's crazy it's been so long since that mobster entrance.

Glad Cena's promo was pretty short.

- Cena vs. Ziggler:
That was a pretty odd audible. Could they have saved that recognition for after the match? Or commercial break?

Cena and Ziggler always work pretty well together. Both men can "go."

Cena's athleticism and strength are insane.

The Zig Zag's a pretty awful finisher. He needs a new kill move. The Super X Factor?

That wasn't bad at all. In fact, it was really solid.

If Kane wasn't around, could J&J Security run the show in HHH and Stephanie's absence? I would watch the hell out of that. Maybe do it for Smackdown?

- Dudleys vs. Ascension:
I think had they built Konnor and Viktor well, they could have done this match at WM31.

Welp, that was quick! Do we get Stardust and Spike thrown into the mix next?

- Neville/Cesaro vs. Barrett/Sheamus:
Cesaro and Neville make a pretty fun team. Cesaro's strength is unreal.

I liked that match while it lasted.

It sucks the fans won't let Roman actually speak. This whole hipster/contrarian thing is ruining a lot of shows.

I wish the cell match involved all six people in this feud. Hopefully it will once we get to the match itself.

- Reigns vs. Strowman:
I like the battle against the big man. It's a fun story when told right.

That wasn't bad at all.

Good post-match. Should be a fun night at HIAC.

Not a bad backstage segment. I'm just ready for Kane to move on from this feud, really.

- Rusev vs. Ryback:
Man, Rusev is really going downhill. So much for maintaining some invulnerability.

Kind of funny to bring up the TMZ story. I wish Rusev would say it's propaganda from Lana.

Rusev should say it's Photoshopped versions of old pictures with Lana, and he'd never marry her. Keep kayfabe, dammit!!

- Kalisto vs. Owens:
Kalisto, I got some bad news for you, brah.

Glad Owens didn't actually do a dive. Heels shouldn't want to please the crowd with big spots.

This is pretty solid stuff!

Nice match!

Brie/Alicia vs. Charlotte/Becky:
This is shaping up to be pretty good.

Not a bad ending. The Bellas are trying to up their game, which is good.

Kane stands to lose his job in a few weeks if he can't beat Rollins anyway, so he might as well have some fun while his bosses are away.

Rollins is fun when he grovels. I do think the character has been inconsistent as far as whining some weeks and thinking he's the man in other weeks.

I wonder when Sheamus does cash in...

- Rollins vs. Kane:
How did Corporate Kane find the Demon on such short notice!?

I do wonder how they intend to sell this match in two weeks when they're giving it away tonight.

I'm kind of getting tired of Rollins trying to escape with his title intact. He's not THAT undermatched, right?

I half-expect a Kane/Big Show DVD one of these days. They've interacted for years now.

Rollins is providing almost all the movement here to work around Kane's limitations. He's making an effort to make this better than it could be with a lesser performer than the Architect.

Crazy lumberjack match as always.

I kind of wish HIAC was this coming Sunday, since they've pretty much hit all the story beats for the matches.

More wrestling coming up.
