WWE live event notes, Nikki update, World Title Series episodes online, Darren Young update, wrestling legend biopic moves ahead, and Questions on Bryan at the Rumble, Stephanie's slapping, NXT tag teams, Heel Dixie turning away viewers, Dijak in WWE, Network originals, getting non-fans to watch wrestling, Brock at a live event, and the end of Hulkamania

In a pretty random tag team match on live events this weekend, Fandango/Curtis Axel/Damien Sandow/Zack Ryder/Darren Young beat The Ascension/Los Matadores/Heath Slater. Titus wasn't on that live event loop, for whatever reason, and there was no report of El Torito being at ringside. I'm interested in what 2016 holds for Los Matadores and PTP.

Titus O'Neil worked a separate live event, beating Stardust. That's the first time I remember PTP working separate shows. It's worth noting.

Big Show beat Mark Henry at MSG, so those two are active for the time being. I wouldn't be surprised to see Show start appearing at least fairly regularly again.

Tommy Dreamer also worked MSG, teaming with the Dudleys to beat Strowman/Harper/Rowan. He's booked for live events through a lot of January.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
John Cena returned to action at MSG, beating Del Rio in the main event by DQ. Interesting that he headlined that show while Roman vs. Sheamus was in Detroit.

Nikki Bella is expected to miss most of January at the least. There's speculation she'll need surgery, but that's not confirmed at this point. She's an important person in WWE as both a wrestler and a "Total Divas" cast member, so they definitely want one of the centerpieces of the Divas division back ASAP.

For my take on the first set of  yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I also see little chance of Bryan being in action by then. WM32 is more likely, but not a guarantee. There's still no word on him being cleared. The lack of progress is concerning.

2. I think the idea at one point was Ronda Rousey turning the tables on Stephanie. HOPEFULLY they have plans for Tamina or Nia Jax to avenge Roman being slapped since Ronda's probably not an option now.

3. That's kind of a problem considering they have their names on their tights, and the announcers call when one man's been tagged out in favor of the other. Even then, each partner has different hair. Dawson's bald, while Dash isn't. Blake and Murphy have different hair colors. So, I don't think it will be that big of an issue for most fans.

4 is a repeat. Nothing new to add.

5. Considering she hasn't been in that role in quite some time, I don't think that explains it nearly as much as veteran performers leaving and (most importantly) TNA moving to a channel fewer people get.

TNA is posting Impact Wrestling episodes from the World Title Series online ahead of their Pop debut, which will conclude the event and declare a new World Champion. That's not a bad idea at all. They really need to regain momentum lost in the DA days.

Darren Young was out recently with a quadriceps issue. I expect we'll find out soon if he'll still be teaming with Titus O'Neil going forward.

Betty Skaaland was ringside at WWE's show in MSG. I'm glad she still attends their events.

WWE is moving forward with a movie based around the life of Gorgeous George, trademarking that name for film purposes. That could be really good. I hope it is.

For my take on the second set of yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I definitely think he's someone they should take a look at. Of course cutting good promos would be something WWE would want him to master, but he could work on that in NXT if he showed enough potential to be signed.

2. WWE's trying to get more people to watch the Network, so they want shows like BG to draw people away from TV. It's possible they did shop it to TV networks and didn't get any interest. Either way, the Network is a big priority for their future.

3. Naturally NXT is "wrestling done right" for a lot of people. WM17 is often talked about as the best PPV to show. A lot of it depends on what part of wrestling you want to spotlight. The high-flying athleticism of lucha libre? An amazing promo? A monster heel laying waste to anyone within reach? It's specific to the audience and what they might like about a show.

4. I wonder if it was originally set to be a WWE Network special, and that ended up being dropped. It's definitely interesting they used him in that way; I can't say I wouldn't save him for televised events.

5. It's definitely in the hospital for the time being as far as being spotlighted in WWE. I wouldn't call it dead, though. We'll have to see how the sex tape controversy affects Hogan in the years to come.

More wrestling tomorrow.
