WWE TLC Reax

Read on for my thoughts on Sunday night's WWE special event.

Kickoff:
Becky vs. Sasha should be really good. They tore it up in NXT.

It's no secret I'm a big fan of the Wyatts, but I think this feud can go longer.

I'm not a big fan of the Usos as promo guys. LD were OK. The Secret Santa stuff was pretty funny.

OK Paige/Flair segment. I think they've pretty much gotten everything they can out of those two facing off.

I'm glad Sasha's getting something of a spotlight tonight. She's a really good talent who could become a really great talent in time.

This Christmas carol thing is terrible. I hope it's supposed to be cringeworthy to get them heat.

- Sasha vs. Becky:
This is pretty good so far!

Becky seems half of a step off.

I think I'd rather hear that Christmas singing instead of JBL and King on commentary.

Nice Electric Chair spot.

I like Becky. I think she'll be a solid talent. Right now, though, she's not at the level of Sasha Banks.

That was what it was.

I don't dislike Del Rio as a promo guy, but there's little topping Zeb Colter on the mic.

Del Rio burying Swagger. That was harsh!

I'm excited to see what LoN does tonight.

TLC:
They're starting off with a match I think will be really good.

I wish more acts could cut promos as good as New Day.

Hilarious stuff from the champs.

- New Day vs. Usos vs. L. Dragons:
I think it's too early to go for ladders, but it made sense for each team to be thinking of the win.

I like the titles being so important people are jumping onto the ladders to win.

LD diving outside was silly when they could have jumped to the ladders and had a chance at winning.

Ditto for the Usos using the ladders as a weapon. Why not have one brother do a dive and the other grab the belts?

It's kind of funny to hear the announcers more or less bury Sin Cara for diving onto the ladder and hurting himself instead of trying to win the match. Ideally, one announcer would say something about the high-risk style paying off for them and taking out the other team. Of course, it is all about cool spots instead of what's logical...

Clever "bench press" spot with the ladders.

The Kofi Tree of Woe spot was pretty good.

Really cool spot with Kalisto flipping onto the ladder.

HHHHHOOOOOOOLLLLLYYYYYYY SHIT. Kalisto's insane for some of this stuff.

I don't think there's any topping the Salida del Sol, but the splash was crazy and destructive, too.

Trombones, Ladders, and Championships match!

Not a bad ending after so much chaos.

I just can't get interested in Ryback as a character. There's just nothing really compelling about him.

Can Rusev put the Accolade on Lawler so we don't have to hear his commentary?

- Rusev vs. Ryback:
Rusev is trying to destroy Ryback, and King and Cole are doing jokes about what Lana's wearing. That's a big part of why wrestlers aren't as over as they should be.

That suplex spot went on too long.

This match in general is going too long. Lovey-dovey Rusev isn't as fun as Monster Rusev.

Please end it with this Accolade.

I think that match sucked a lot of energy after that opener. Ryback's a limited performer.

Not a bad Ambrose/Reigns promo.

Swagger could definitely use Colter in his corner for promos. He's still not great at those.

- Del Rio vs. Swagger:
Oh, this is going to be a war.

Del Rio's going hard with the edge of that chair.

The Patriot Lock with a chair is pretty intense.

I like Swagger well enough as a wrestler.

The Cross Armbreaker in the ropes is pretty crazy, too.

Pretty good ending, I think. Two really talented performers there.

Bubba Ray's passion makes up for Jojo sounding like she'd rather be doing anything else.

Pretty good ECW promo, even if Rhyno didn't get to speak.

- Team ECW vs. Wyatts:
Oh, man. This is going to be an outright brawl.

They're going full-on hardcore here. Or about as hardcore as they can get in the PG world.

Braun Strowman is a one-man wrecking crew.

They have some really fragile tables tonight.

Wyatt and Harper work together pretty well. They're definitely the better workers of the group.

Good sequence to eliminate Rhyno.

Nice elimination by Bray.

Pretty good spot to eliminate Dreamer.

If Bubba beats three guys, I swear to God...

NICE counter to Sister Abigail.

NO WAY. NO FUCKING WAY!!!! He's not going to set a table on fire!

Oh. Well. So much for that.

Decent Owens promo. The remarks about popcorn and soda were funny.

- Owens vs. Ambrose:
I like seeing these two non-stereotypical WWE performers collide.

I enjoy when performers go for their finishers early, only to be countered. It sells how important and damaging the finishers can be.

Good work on the outside of the ring.

I like how Owens is totally fine with winning by countout instead of going for a suicide dive or something.

Impressive stuff from two veterans.

Good spot reversing to the Dirty Deeds, and another good one with Owens just barely getting to the rope.

Really enjoyable ending. Good match overall.

- Charlotte vs. Paige:
Good start to things. They're both bringing it.

I'm not crazy about Heel Charlotte. The Flair Flop was funny, though.

It's weird to see heel vs. heel.

OK, Heel Charlotte's growing on me. Maybe it's just "Ric Flair 2.0" Charlotte I'm not a big fan of.

Charlotte's definitely a strong worker.

Paige trying to wear Charlotte down is good.

Paige going for the Figure 4 was a really good heel move. An obvious one, but a good one still.

Mostly a good match so far.

I liked the continuity with that ending. I'm fine with Heel Charlotte using her dad to win IF it builds to a face Sasha Banks taking the belt at WM32 or thereabouts.

Hopefully Becky shows some guts and steps up to Charlotte.

I'm really looking forward to Sheamus vs. Reigns, despite this awful commentary. This could really be a hell of a fight.

- Sheamus vs. Reigns:
BAH GAWD! This is already a slobberknocker.

You've had plenty of Cena these past ten years. WWE needs to build for the future.

Reigns took his eyes off Sheamus for way too long. That's why his last title reign was 5:15.

I like Reigns just saying "fuck it" and destroying Sheamus on the outside of the ring.

Carnage everywhere!

Sheamus didn't need to do a 450 Asai moonsault; he just threw a ladder at his opponent and went on his way. Smart from the champ.

Nice counter to the Drive-By.

They're going all out here. Someone's going to have to clean up a lot of tables.

GOOD GAWD ALMIGHTY. They're throwing caution to the wind; it's a war zone out there.

AS GAWD AS MAH WITNESS, THEY'RE BROKEN IN HALF!!!! This is getting uncomfortable. They're taking some big bumps.

Sheamus hitting that powerbomb would have been insane.

GOOD GAWD SHEAMUS THROUGH THE DAMN TABLE.

Reigns has been screwed out of the title and title opportunities like fifty times now. If this was Bryan or Punk, we'd be hearing all about how it's a "burial."

That was one heck of a fight. Reigns did all he could, but he had too much working against him.

Oh shit Reigns is going postal on LoN.

ROMAN REIGNS LIKE A MAN POSSESSED.

Triple H bumping like no one's business for Reigns.

Reigns 3:16 OOOHHH HEELLLLL YYYEEEEEEAAAAAAHHH.

BAH GAWD ANOTHER SPEAR. ENOUGH IS A DAMN NOUGH.

More wrestling coming up.
