WWE live event notes, ROH names competing for new NJPW title, guests for ROH, new GM for ROH, Interview with Kenny, CHIKARA head on the art of wrestling, ROH seeking new stars, Cena TV return set, and Questions on a Cruiserweight division, a Taker tell-all, Bayley vs. Sasha, reuniting the Shield as faces, and removing Trump vs. Pete Rose

At a live event this weekend, Sheamus was helped to the back after his match with Roman Reigns, leading to speculation of him being hurt.

Update: Sheamus, thankfully, was just selling. He's fine.

John Laurinaitis was on-hand at a live event this weekend, seated near the entrance. He got some "People Power" chants here and there. I'm guessing he was the agent on-hand for the show.

The Briscoes, teaming with Toru Yano, will be competing for NJPW's brand new Never Openweight Six Man Title on Jan. 4. I have no idea what the first part of that means, but we'll see how Mark and Jay do.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
NJPW's Gedo will work ROH's 14th anniversary PPV. More Japanese talent is expected for the show.

Sean Waltman was visiting at Final Battle. Hopefully he tried to tell some of those circus performers how to sell/have a match with psychology.

Sinclair has promoted ROH's Business Manager to General Manager. What that actually means for the company is unknown.

WWE caught up with the former Kenny Dykstra:

- I always wished he would have done more. He definitely has a really good attitude and tenacity.

- Props to the Spirit Squad for making the most of that gimmick.

- I'm really proud of what he's done post-WWE. Good for him!

CHIKARA's Mike Quackenbush put over the art of professional wrestling. I think the Harlem Globetrotters are an apt comparison, as are comics. Well said.

ROH will begin its Top Prospect tournament on Jan. 9, and end it on Feb. 6. Both dates are TV tapings. This tournament will see the arrival in ROH of talents who will mold the future of that company and of pro wrestling as a whole. It'll be interesting to see what 2016 holds for the ROH roster.

John Cena is returning to Raw next week to take on Alberto Del Rio. I'm really curious what Cena will be doing for Mania season. He's faced pretty much everyone at this point. Cena vs. (NXT's) Baron Corbin? Cena vs. the Wyatts again? There's not much more to do with the character.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I'm not a fan of it. It almost always limits those talents by putting them in the box of Cruiserweight, X-Division, etc. I'd rather see them compete for other titles than all stuffed into the "flippy short guys" division.

2. Possibly when he's left "Undertaker" behind and moved on from wrestling entirely. He's been less guarded about his persona in the last few years, so I wouldn't completely rule it out. I think we could see him speak out-of-character on DVDs about his career and feuds, but I don't see him doing a "tell-all" on every little thing.

3. Both are amazing! The first one doesn't have the commitment of thirty minutes, so show that one as a possible prelude for the iron man match.

4. Yes, and we'll see. We've still got a while before he comes back. A lot of things can change between now and then. I do think they need to have them built as singles star, but teaming them all as faces is a natural idea.

5. I think Pete Rose did something at a completely different level than what Trump has said. Rose's controversy was a really long time ago (like Mike Tyson's), so there's no big moral outcry over it. Trump, on the other hand, is facing a lot of condemnation in the here and now.

More wrestling tomorrow.
