NXT Takeover: R Evolution preview

Read on for how I'd book tomorrow's NXT special.
One idea to add to the show if there's time is to have Mojo Rawley come back and announce he's just been cleared to come back following his injury. They should play up how he's crazy to be back just now because he should be spending more time rehabbing, etc., but he's here to challenge Bull Dempsey. He puts up a fight, but Bull eventually takes him out. Cue Baron Corbin to try to one-up him in destroying the "still-recovering" Mojo. This leads to a big war between Bull and Baron, with them brawling right out of the NXT Arena.

If they absolutely need another match, they can have Enzo, Big Cass, and Carmella do their shtick and have the latter beat a local indie name.

As for what's actually been announced:
The Lucha Dragons retain against The Vaudevillains. I don't think it's time to do a title switch yet. I'd like to see what all of them have from an in-ring perspective, though. I think Kidd and Gabriel make for natural next opponents, although I'd eventually like to see Bull and Baron earn mutual respect for each other after some big brawls and team up to go for the titles. That could be fun.

For the Women's Title match, I like the idea of Becky Lynch going to interfere only to be stopped by Bayley. However, Bayley getting involved makes enough of a distraction for Sasha to get the surprise win. I'm a big fan of Charlotte, but I think there's a better story to be told with this ending. There can more or less be a four-way feud for the title as time goes on. In my eyes, the goal here is for all of them to get more experience by working with each other. Charlotte can still work on the main roster, challenging Sasha for the title without winning.

The Ascension are being primed for the main roster, so this is the perfect opportunity to end their run. Itami and Balor show what they can do with a big win, and we get ready to see Konnor and Viktor on other shows.

Anyone who knows Kevin Owens wants to see him feud with Sami Zayn. That's my plan for the main event. Kind of. Neville and Zayn show off what they've got, only for Owens to come out and cost Zayn the title out of jealousy for Zayn getting opportunities Owens hasn't gotten. Zayn is a man of his word, and he leaves NXT at the next episode. However, William Regal soon signs a new masked luchadore of similar size with similar moves and a similar look to Zayn who has a big feud with Owens while Zayn gets prepared to be bumped up to the main roster. While Owens feuds with this new luchadore, I think they should hold off putting Zayn on the main roster. Since they're so similar and all.

As for Neville, he plays up his big win and considers himself the top international talent in NXT. Finn Balor and Hideo Itami have something to say about this, and we get a big rivalry for the gold culminating in a big three-way dance at the next special.

More wrestling tomorrow.
