WWE live event notes and Questions on hating Cena, who should win the Rumble, wrestling in NXT, what trending means, and how to boost Network buys

Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Hart were part of a WWE live event in Cincinnati. Lana and Rusev interacted with them to set up Rusev defending the U.S. Title against Roman Reigns. That show also featured Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Tyler Breeze wrestling. Bad News Barrett did a promo again. Sin Cara replaced Darren Young in the opener against Justin Gabriel. Not sure why they didn't have Young work another match after his return the night before. I wouldn't read anything into it, though. It was probably just planned to be a one-time thing to see how he is.

On the other set of live events, Sami Zayn once more retained the NXT Championship against Adrian Neville. I'm surprised The Ascension aren't working live events, since they're set to come up soon. Neville is expected to be the next NXT call-up, though, so it makes sense to get him some more work before that happens.

Santino Marella was the guest ring announcer on one live event this weekend. It was a match involving Emma, so I wonder if we'll see those two together again. It's a shame we haven't seen Emma more. She's great.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I think there was already some resentment when he won the WWE Title for the first time, with the feeling he wasn't "ready" for the big "win the title at Mania" push. I think fans really liked him before that. As time went on and he was booked more dominantly, and became more generic of a character with more "five moves of doom" matches, he got even more flack. I think a lot of top names go through that, but I've never seen it to the extent Cena has gotten. He's been on top for so long with basically the same character, it's really given his detractors a lot of reason to dislike him.

2. I also hope it's Ziggler or Ambrose getting that big push going into WM31, but if the choice is between a big push for Reigns resulting in someone new in main events going forward, or even more reliance on the likes of Cena, Orton, Show, etc., I'm all for giving Reigns the chance to show he's worth trying out as the next "guy" to build around.

3. That's about as good of an explanation as any. It's better to be over-prepared for the main roster than under-prepared, I guess. They do get to have better matches on live events and B shows, but that's not much of a consolation. Maybe one day they will get to show what they can do on a more regular basis?

4. I doubt Vince really knows too much about what Twitter is, or really cares. The suits are just trying to capitalize on whatever the kids are talking about these days.

5. While I think the Network is already an incredible deal, I also think it'd be a good idea to give them special perks. Maybe they'd get to pre-order tickets or merch before anyone else? Discounts are good, too, but shouldn't be their first choice.

More wrestling tomorrow.
