TNA departure?, Punk to UFC (seriously), Ambrose update, Foley guest hosting, live event notes, and Questions on blading in TNA, Mercury talking to Punk, fixing TNA, and more

Although it has not been officially confirmed by TNA, it is believed Brittany is no longer part of the company. She made her return to SHINE under the name Santana Garrett, and her official website refers to her as a former Knockout.

C.M. Punk will now be competing in UFC. That's quite the surprising acquisition! I didn't think we'd see him compete at all post-WWE, but we'll see how he does. Hopefully this puts the "when is he coming back to wrestling" stuff to bed for a while.

Update: Dana White talked about meeting him. I'm not a huge fan of White, personally.

Update: ESPN covered the story. It's a pretty big deal.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Kevin Nash and C.M. Punk were listed on a Jeopardy clue. That's pretty cool.

WWE is saying Dean Ambrose has a crushed trachea as a result of Bray Wyatt's attack on Smackdown. This is just storyline.

Mick Foley will host a best of TLC special after Raw Monday night. That makes sense given his role in coming up with that match in kayfabe.

Alex Riley worked recent a WWE live event in his hometown. I wouldn't read anything into that as far as him returning to the roster full-time. I don't know if there's much of a place for him right now unless he's really upped his game.

Dean Ambrose worked Saturday's live event, so obviously he's OK following Smackdown.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. It's weird to think we're talking about blading in 2014 after WWE has moved away from it. I'd like to think TNA at least tests wrestlers for blood-borne diseases and the like before having those kinds of matches.

2. My thoughts exactly! I don't think it's going to make any difference now, though.

3. I do think TNA should look different when it comes to Destination America as far as pushing new talent and a new direction. This work was started to some level in 2014. However, I think it's unrealistic to expect a complete "reinvention" of wrestling, or even one of the company. We could see some drastic changes, but they'll take time. I think it's OK for TNA to use SOME older talent and elements from previous promotions and eras, but they need to be used the right way to push the vision of TNA as a whole forward.

Nothing to add to 4.

5. There's video proof out there if you're really that interested.

More wrestling tomorrow.
