Rampage update, WWE name returns from injury, WWE/NXT live event notes, TNA name taking indie bookings, Batista plugs Titus, Interview with Rollins, new NXT trainer?, and Questions on pushing Owens, The Network, Rollins vs. Reigns at WM31, Zayn vs. Owens at Mania, and ads on the mat

Rampage Jackson has signed a new contract with UFC, stating he's terminated his deal with Bellator. However, Bellator claims he's still under contract. This potentially sets up a legal issue over his status. If he's still under contract to Bellator, presumably he's still part of TNA, too?

Update: Jackson and UFC are pretty adamant he'll be able to fight in 2015. I'd assume a TNA return, already rather unlikely, isn't happening.

Darren Young returned to the ring at a live event this weekend, beating Justin Gabriel before both were attacked by Seth Rollins. I'm going to guess they're just testing out what he can do after returning from injury. That's definitely not a prominent place on the card.

Update: Young tweeted about his return. I hope his gimmick doesn't just become "proud gay wrestler". That could pigeonhole him.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Adrian Neville beat Tyler Breeze on a recent main roster live event. I wonder if that was originally going to be an NXT Title match. Where's Sami Zayn?

Sasha Banks worked a main roster live event, too. She teamed with Cameron in a loss to Naomi and Emma. Sasha's been pretty good lately. I don't think it's time to bring her up yet, but it's worth giving her a chance to see what she can do along main roster Divas.

Ric Flair was the special referee for Roman Reigns vs. Kane at a recent live event. It's cool to see him used in that way.

Abyss is now seeking bookings outside of TNA. I wouldn't read too much into that. With TNA's current light schedule (featuring no live events), a lot of talents are getting additional dates where they can.

Batista Tweeted an opinion piece on WWE underutilizing Titus O'Neil. The two are long-time friends. I like Slater Gator, and think Titus works pretty well as a mid-level heel. I think this is part of a larger problem of only top stars getting a lot of attention on TV.

Seth Rollins talked ahead of a live event. Pretty much a puff piece. I hope he's got a bright future.

Here are results from a recent NXT live event. I don't recall hearing of some of those names. I'm glad they're all getting experience, though. I'm curious to see what Solomon Crowe can bring to the table for WWE.

Former NWA Chapion Adam Pearce has announced his retirement, leading to speculation he'll be going to NXT as a regular trainer. That's probably a good move for both sides.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Considering he just got there, I think it could still be a few months before he wins the NXT Title. He's getting a pretty good push right out the gate, so there shouldn't be any concerns about his booking at this point. I'd say if they haven't pulled the trigger on him yet, they've at least got the finger in position.

2. I highly doubt WWE would even consider it. Dream big and all, but that's a pretty big risk and would come with a big price tag. And the movie's not even related to anything WWE does!

3. I don't see WWE going that route. I don't even know if Reigns and Ambrose are that close anymore. Ambrose is the kind of guy to do things on his own. As for the Wyatts, maybe Rowan's "smartened up" and shaken off the brainwashing? Now that he's seen that light, he's going against Harper. Harper's still pretty broken by Wyatt's programming. Heck, maybe Rowan and Harper had issues all the time off-camera, and only worked together when Wyatt led them? Don't just assume Vince is an idiot.

4. Maybe they should build a feud on Superstars, too? Only part of the audience watches NXT. More people watch "Total Divas". Zayn vs. Owens belongs on the Takeover special around the time of WM31. Both of them are great, but Mania is for people on the main roster.

5. TNA did it for the ring aprons for a while. I can only imagine how that would change the dynamic of TV. "Make sure the logo's visible in the shot! Don't bump on top of it!" I wouldn't be shocked to see it one day, though. Ads on the barricades, announce tables, turnbuckle pads, etc., too, wouldn't be shocking.

More wrestling tomorrow.
