Takeover notes, NXT injury, Interviews with Riley/Rollins, Kendrick-WWE update, Network notes, another Hogan date, WWE Week set, Kamala update, Santino surgery, and Questions on Punk's publicity, TNA as competition, getting other talents work in NXT, and getting indies on TV

Triple H put over the effort of the talents at the NXT Takeover special. Clever guy. I think a number of talents are grabbing brass rings. Vince just won't let many of them actually take them.

Morale at NXT was pretty high after the Takeover special. It was a really good show. NXT is impressive.

Kevin Owens is believed to have received a broken nose in his NXT debut. Parker hit him so hard, it opened a gash on his palm and hand. That's pretty intense. Welcome to WWE, Owens!

Finn Balor is expected to continue to have paint in upcoming appearances, at least at major shows. He has a really good look. He's a star in the making.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Alex Riley talked about getting back in the ring and more. I think he was worth keeping around as a wrestler, but he also has strengths on the microphone.

Brian Kendrick is trying out to be a trainer at NXT. That's interesting, considering he didn't get very far in WWE. We'll see how he does.

More new content is being made for the WWE Network, and Prime Time Wrestling content is available in the Vault. It keeps expanding!

Hulk Hogan is set for the Dec. 21 Smackdown taping, possibly as guest GM. I think the shows have been better without an authority figure taking up a ton of screen time. I hope that continues.

WWE previewed their upcoming week on USA Network, including a live Smackdown and Tribute to the Troops. It's definitely holiday season.

Stevie Richards and The Blue Meanie will do a bWo takeover of the WWE Network at some point in 2015 to promote the ECW Unreleased, Volume 3 DVD. That could be fun. No Nova, though?

Kamala was released from the hospital, and is doing better. His condition is pretty sad these days.

Santino Marella had another important surgery. I would assume he's retired unless something drastically changes.

Seth Rollins talked about Vince's recent comments, who from NXT is ready, and more. Here are some highlights. NXT is really fantastic. I hope there are a good number of prospects from there who will be really successful.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I strongly doubt it was orchestrated from the get-go, although it's great it worked out that way for Punk.

2. TNA is technically competition, just not at a big enough level to do much damage. I think part of the gimmick of the no-compete clause is because WWE is continuing to pay a talent during that time and they're still technically under contract. Going to a nationally-televised/iPPV company would violate the contract in a way going to an indie show wouldn't. I guess. Either way, I don't think WWE's going to fret too much over TNA now that they've been downgraded to Destination America.

3. If only! I think the main roster should in some ways be more like NXT so we won't have to wish to see someone from there be "demoted" to show what they can really do.

4. She's not anywhere near wrestling, which is all I care about.

5. Yeah, it's not as cheap as you might think. There are various fees involved.

More wrestling tomorrow.
