Interviews with Reigns/HHH/Graves/Stephanie/Nikki, WM press, Goldberg to MMA?, new WWE deals, WWE trademarks old character, GFW debut set?, more on Brock, Questions on Heyman as a wrestler, Perro's passing, WWE vs. Walking Dead, WWE Films, and Cena's promos

Roman Reigns was interviewed on Conan. Clips here and here. Can Reigns be a mainstream star in the vein of John Cena? WWE certainly hopes so.

Dana White commented on Brock Lesnar re-signing with WWE. I picture the segment Brock did in 2012 where he signed a contract for HHH.

Triple H talked about training to get in the ring at WM31. Interesting remarks about people getting time off. I think in some ways it's more about the mental break needed, and recovering from any nagging injuries. He does have some interesting thoughts about taking longer breaks from the business, though.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Goldberg was recently pitched to take part in a kickboxing match with Alberto El Patron, which he turned down due to the limited time to get ready. I think he would have been murdered. He says he is interested in an MMA bout, however. He should have one with Bill DeMott and start a new streak.

WWE has announced a new deal with Tapout clothing. Tapout was associated pretty heavily with UFC and its fanbase for a while, and honestly had a negative reputation for being the brand for obnoxious douchebags. Basically, the Bro-Mans' characters would be ideal for wearing Tapout. But it's a new day. Hopefully the brand will have positive connotations now.

WWE has applied to trademark "The Boogeyman" again after allowing it to lapse previously. He'll be at AXXESS. I wonder how much more we'll see of him; he's made a number of cameos in recent years on WWE.com and, of course, his Rumble return.

Sam Roberts had a long interview with Corey Graves. I would have loved to have seen Graves get a shot at the main roster. He had a solid presence and some veteran wiles about him. Paired with the right person as a manager or tag partner, he could have been pretty solid.

It sounds like an August 22 show is in the works for GFW, possibly as a TV taping. This could just be a pilot to be shopped around, but there's definitely talk of wrestlers being booked for it. I'm curious as to how big of a deal this will be after so much anticipation of the promotion launching.

The AP looked at Brock Lesnar making tons and tons and tons of money by staying with WWE. This is big news for WWE. I hope he has a great run. Can we finally get Lesnar vs. Orton and Lesnar vs. Bryan now?

Update: JR looked at Brock re-signing. Business has DEFINITELY picked up.

Update: A lot of people inside WWE are very excited Brock is sticking around. That's a bit surprising given his schedule and pay.

Tastsumi Fujinami talked ahead of going into the WWE Hall of Fame. I wouldn't be surprised to see a greater international focus to the Hall in years to come.

The Undertaker's 50th birthday was covered in Houston. I hope he gets a proper finale at WM32 in Dallas (or the night after).

Stephanie McMahon talked about potentially having a match at a future WrestleMania. AJ vs. Stephanie could work.

Yahoo! Sports looked at Roman Reigns' story outside the ring. It's a shame some people don't appreciate the hard work he has done. WWE didn't just pick some random guy to push. He's not perfect, and I don't think he's the best choice to headline WM31, but I think he'll be successful despite his detractors.

Nikki Bella talked about who she is outside the ring. I honestly couldn't care much less about the Bellas. They're improving in the ring, but I still don't consider myself a fan of them.

Here's a look at how much physical wrestling there is during WrestleMania matches. I think this analysis is flawed in a sense because a lot of times the selling, staredowns, etc. are critical for the pacing of the match.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Talk about your out-there hypotheticals. I really have no answer for this. Obviously if he could wrestle as good as he's talked, he'd be a top name.

2. This is a pretty loaded question. I'll do it piece by piece:
- I think it's a natural reaction when someone is angry and grieving to lash out and try to assign blame. Does that mean Rey's responsible? Not at all. It just doesn't surprise me someone's so heated about the passing they try to blame it on something other than extremely bad luck. It's not like Rey maliciously did what he did.

- People definitely seem to want to have more attention on themselves in this day and age, with the pictures and what not. Some of it's just a matter of there now being more technology for them to be able to gain attention by taking a picture of a deceased wrestler, making a rude joke online, and that kind of thing. It was a historical moment, and people wanted to document it for one reason or another. I can only imagine how things would have been different with JFK's assassination if there was the kind of technology there is now.

- I do look at wrestling in a darker light than when I was just a fan. So many people dying young or otherwise having fractured existences because of the grind of the business is a very sobering reality.

- We'll see what the autopsy holds when it's done.

3. Both will be really big deals! I do think the audiences will be at least somewhat different, though.

4. That's the nature of the beast with shooting schedules. I hate it at times, too.

5. He almost definitely could do some really good promos. I think him having to be the PG Make-A-Wish guy is one of the main things preventing him from being as good as Heyman or Rock.

More wrestling tomorrow.
