Impact Wrestling Reax - 8/26/15

Read on for my thoughts on last night's Impact Wrestling.

I've never been a big fan of the Hardys as promo guys. But they're both food overall.

WHOA. It's been a long time since those ladder match days.

EC3 is awesome. Definitely one of the best parts of TNA.

Interesting stipulation. Are they just biding time until Jeff vs. EC3 at BFG? I honestly don't know what they're doing for the TNA Title then, since I've purposefully avoided spoilers.

I definitely want to see EY take Melendez's leg. Not sure what he should do with it, though.

More TNA-GFW stuff works for me. It's not like much else exciting is happening in TNA right now with the roster shrinking.

- EY vs. Melendez:
This is old school wrestling heat. I like it from that perspective. Sometimes wrestling gets too fancy for its own good and forgets what it was built on.

OH MY GOD CAN WE HAVE A LEG ON A POLE MATCH NEXT!!!??? Let's go full Russo with this.

I'd also be down for a plot twist where Melendez pulls a Piccolo and just grows a new leg.

- Uno vs. Z vs. Dutt:
Nothing says you don't give a fuck about your titles like just having a match for the gold with no buildup or feud involved. One thing ROH is good at is making their title matches mean something. NXT and (sometimes) WWE do this, too.

I spent the whole match hoping Donald Trump would come out after Uno challenged him some time back. I would have settled for Scott Steiner.

It's kind of sad seeing Storm's last segments in TNA presumably wrapping up the Revolution angle. It was one of my favorite things in wrestling.

- Wolves vs. Manik/Abyss:
The Wolves are really impressive athletes, but I think it should take more than that to be good wrestlers.

Shera vs. Storm has some heat behind it, although Shera's segment last week was pretty terrible.

Fine match for what it was ("popcorn action" that was a backdrop to Storm vs. Shera). Since the Wolves' feud with the BDC didn't air, it was good to see them be put back on the map with a win. Who the heck is left for them to feud with?

Another EC3/Matt match works for me. This feels kind of "connect the dots" for an eventual EC3/Jeff match, but that's kind of what it needs to be.

- Brooke vs. Velvet:
They couldn't have advertised these three title matches last week? Having three title matches in one night should be a really big deal.

Bleeeehhhhh. The action was good before the DQ, but the division is a mess now.

The Dolls being afraid of Rebel is pretty lame. Awesome Kong I can understand, or even Gail. But Rebel's just not at that level.

I'm not all that excited about a new member of the Dollhouse. I think it's all kind of run its course, really.

The KOTM #1 Contendership should also matter. Where's the anger at a GFW guy holding the TNA Title???

- Storm vs. Anderson vs. Roode vs. Lashley:
If we don't see Beer Money in GFW (if TNA goes under), we'll have really lost two great talents from TV wrestling.

Pretty good match overall. Roode is really talented.

It is great to see Jeff and Dixie get along again. I don't know what it will really mean as far as "saving" TNA, but it's good for them to put the past behind them.

So, what the heck did Drew do during the commercial break? Stand there awkwardly, not saying anything?

Fun stuff in the final angle. Russo-riffic, but fun.

TNA vs. GFW in a big showdown at Bound For Glory would be good. It's not like they have much else to do.

More wrestling coming up.
