NXT injury update, VIP Q&A, BBC on wrestling mortality rate, and Questions on Punk leaving, the future of NXT, Ronda Rousey, chronicling the AWA, and being part of WM week

A Divas match at this weekend's NXT live event was stopped early after one competitor ended up bleeding from the nose. Billie Kay, the former Jessie McKay, is OK as far as not suffering a major injury. I think Kay, Peyton Royce (formerly KC Kassidy), and Nia Jax (formerly Lina Fanene) will be the next crop of Divas to try to make their marks on the NXT show. Along with Dana Brooke, Eva Marie, Alexa Bliss, Carmella, and Bayley, they've got a good number of women cutting their teeth. There's also Gionna Daddio, who was part of Bull Dempsey's training montages this week.

Here's a report from a Q&A from WWE's recent live event in Australia. Nothing too groundbreaking, although a team of Natalya/Emma/Dana Brooke would be interesting. Dana recently worked a live event on the main roster, but that could have been a last-minute replacement for the recently-retired Layla. She's got potential, but is still rough around the edges.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

BBC did a study on the trend of early deaths of wrestlers. I think WWE responded well. Hopefully things do improve for wrestlers' mortality. It's worth noting the death in Mexico was from an in-ring accident instead of a lifetime of drug use or something of that sort.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Of the two, a rebel. He was fed up with working sick and hurt and frequently butting heads with Management. He wasn't going to get the Wrestlemania main event he wanted at WM30, so it was no longer worth it to work where he was miserable. That took some real guts.

2. I think the next few months will be kind of a rebuilding period following the "graduation" of Owens and the three Divas. For singles competitors, Apollo Crews will debut soon and Hideo Itami probably won't be out much longer, plus there are quite a few talents we haven't gotten to see much from. As for women, there are some names we've barely seen at all working live events. I do suspect tag teams will be a focus, given how many there are down there.

It's important to remember it takes time for someone to show the potential we saw from the people who are finishing up. I have faith in the talent that's already there and the talent they'll end up signing. WWE knows what they're doing, and they're vigilant in continuing to improve the roster. Who knows, maybe we'll see Austin Aries and/or James Storm now that they're free from TNA.

3. That'd be great! That ball's in UFC's court, though. I'm waiting for Austin to interview Taker and Sting. Both those names would be big deals. I'd love to see Brock Lesnar do the show, too, but he's not really one to do much talking.

4. There are some record books looking back at AWA history, but nothing like WWE 50 that I'm aware of.

5. Plan ahead and have maps? That's pretty much true for any travel experience.

6. I doubt it. HHH and Stephanie are really big fans of hers.

More wrestling tomorrow.
