New WWE ring name, GFW promotes Piper film, Liger promo, Interview with Reigns, Questions on Cena's toughness, ECW under Tod Gordon, a lack of heel tactics, Rollins being "buried," and Tough Enough

To go along with his new hair color, Brad Maddox now has a new ring name. The wrestler now known as Joshua Kingsley lost to Zack Ryder before Smackdown. It's pretty telling when you were so low on the ladder this is seen as a step up.

GFW is helping to promote the final film to feature Roddy Piper. I wonder if we would have seen Piper's Pit there like we did in the pre-Spike days of TNA.

Jushin "Thunder" Liger did a promo for his upcoming match at Takeover:Brooklyn. It's surreal he's never wrestled in WWE before.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Roman Reigns talked about his WM31 match and more:

- He'll probably never win over his most vocal detractors who are the "cool kids hating the jock," but I think if he keeps working hard, he'll be able to sway those who are close to being on the fence.

- I hope others don't feel the need to throw things at Reigns like that. That was really uncalled for.

- WWE's probably not happy with him saying he was flipping channels during Raw that night.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. This question reminded me of Paul Heyman's boasts after WM31. I think a lot of detractors respect Cena, but that doesn't mean they have to like his matches or want to see him booked how he is. Heck, I respect all Big Show and Bully Ray have accomplished and I'd be fine with not seeing either for a really long time. And yes, Cena's really close to a real-life superhuman.

2. Presumably he wouldn't have tried to expand it as rapidly as Heyman did, if he wanted to expand it at all. Heyman buying ECW took things more in the vein of how Paul E. wanted them. In some ways, they were like two separate promotions.

3. I think the business needs coward heels and dirty heels. The latter is definitely missing in today's wrestling. Some of it's because now heels are just as concerned with selling merch and getting cheered for their highspots as faces are. It's a sports-entertainment spectacle with top athletes having choreographed contests instead of faces and heels having a wrestling match and actually working the crowd.

4. We've seen a lot of guys go down the card after facing Cena because he's pretty much the top of the food chain and they pretty much have to drop from there. It was an accident, and one they're profiting from with the "U Can't See Knee" shirts. Rollins survived the nude photo scandal. He'll survive breaking Cena's nose.

5. This shit again. WWE is always going to hire the wrestlers they think they can make money from, reality shows be damned. The winner gets a contract, but not a guaranteed "push" or endorsement from Management.

More wrestling tomorrow.
