Lynn reaches goal, WWE live event note, new WWE nickname might be changed, WWE Network tributes Piper, Diva pregnant, Takeover lineup, TNA adds more live events, more on Jerry Lynn, more Piper memories, Taz note, no WM31 special?, and Questions on WWE agents, Rousey-WM32, Field of Honor, the Cruiserweight Title, and Stardust

Jerry Lynn passed the amount of money he needed to raise for neck and back surgeries, so the excess will go to Nashville Rescue Mission. Many stars who worked with him or were influenced by him assisted in the campaign.

Update: Lynn thanked fans before going under the knife.

Finn Balor retained the NXT Championship against Neville in Australia on a main roster live event. I imagine by this time next year Balor will be a regular member of the main roster. But who will be NXT Champion?

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the new group nickname for Becky Lynch, Charlotte, and Paige has led to search results related to a porn site. The porn site that has seen business increase is sending Vince McMahon a gift basket. While I can see Vince finding that hysterical, I wouldn't be shocked to see the name changed due to the connotations and WWE being a public company.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

WWE Network showed a lot of Roddy Piper-related content Thursday, including a special preview of "Table for 3." There's plenty of Hot Rod content on the Network.

Rosa Mendes announced her pregnancy to WWE.com. It sounds like she'll be off the road for quite some time. I can see why they might be doing something different with Adam Rose since she won't be at ringside now.

Set for NXT Takeover: Brooklyn (spoilers for yet-to-be-aired episodes of NXT blacked out):
- Ladder match for the NXT Championship: Finn Balor vs. Kevin Owens
- NXT Tag Team Championship: Blake and Murphy vs. The Vaudevillains
- NXT Women's Championship: Sasha Banks vs. Bayley
- Tyler Breeze vs. Jushin "Thunder" Liger
- Samoa Joe vs. Baron Corbin
- Apollo Crews (formerly Uhaa Nation) in action

That sounds like one hell of a show! I can't wait.

TNA has set live events for Sept. 18 and 19, following the previously-announced event for Sept. 17. The shows are advertised as the "Round to Bound for Glory." TNA hasn't had a domestic live event in a full calendar year, and they haven't had any shows outside of Orlando since January. Hopefully this is good news for the TNA roster as far as getting more money in their pockets.

Jerry Lynn's neck surgery was successful. The procedure was undertaken to remove a significant number of bone spurs.

Mr. T remembered Roddy Piper. Jesse Ventura and Chavo Guerrero did on their online shows, as well. I know Piper didn't want to look weak against a TV star at WM1. I can't say I blame him, especially back when wrestlers more protected. I'm glad they were on good terms after T's HoF induction.

Taz discussed Dana White's recent comments on his podcast. Taz obviously had some real influence from shoot fighting.

NBC might not do their annual Wrestlemania special this year. I don't know how well those did in the ratings anyway. I believe NBC started the specials after the SNME revival fizzled out.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. As you can see, there's a pretty full list. Brooklyn Brawler works in that capacity, too, and there might be more I'm forgetting.

2. UFC might be willing to just have her physically involved like at WM31 if they don't let her have an actual match. I hope we get to see her have an important tole then, and WWE does, too. It's in UFC's hands.

3. That would make sense given Strong's prominence in ROH. We'll see.

4. I'd rather see performers like Neville compete for the U.S. and IC Titles than be relegated to their own division. There's more than enough "flippy guy vs. flippy guy" in wrestling as it is.

5. Rhodes is only 30 years old. There's plenty of time for him to change gimmicks down the line if he and WWE choose to do so. It's WAY too soon to say we'll never see him wrestle as himself again.

More wrestling tomorrow.
