Raw Reax - 8/10/15

Read on for my thoughts on last night's Raw.

Rollins is a smoother talker than he used to be. And he's getting solid heat from the crowd. WWE made the right move in keeping the title on him.

Nice knock on Cena's rap career. I miss that version of Cena.

Rollins is going hard on Cena. Cena not being around to respond makes this mean more as far as anticipating Rollins getting a beating.

Having Rollins, Cesaro, and Owens as such a big part of Raw is pretty cool. It feels fresh after so much from Cena, Orton, The Authority, etc..

Rollins has never beaten Cena? Wow.

I can live with Orton and HHH being a part of that segment. This should be a pretty big night.

Not a bad pre-match for Team BAD vs. The Bellas. I'm glad Divas are getting mic time.

- Team BAD vs. Bellas/Fox:
I think the Bellas are underrated as wrestlers. They're not amazing but I think they're better than they sometimes get credit for.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

Pretty crazy post-match brawl. I wonder what we'll see from the Divas at Summerslam.

- Matadores vs. New Day:
If WWE wanted to (I don't necessarily endorse it), they could make a tag team turmoil at Summerslam and have a surprise team (either from NXT or someone like the Dudleys) win the titles at the end.

Good match overall. I like WWE's tag team division right now.

Xavier Woods got me cracking up after the match. I look forward to Summerslam. What about The Ascension? I can't say I'm surprised at the lack of Axel and Sandow.

I wish Rollins would have said something about breaking someone else's nose tonight.

- Cesaro vs. Orton vs. Owens:
I liked Randy going for the RKO early. It's easily one of the best finishers in wrestling today. Obviously it's not incredibly innovative and flashy, but it doesn't need to be because it's treated like a move that beats people in the match instead of just being the final highspot.

Owens doing Orton's pose was great. I think all three of these men can tear it up in the ring.

This is pretty awesome!

Cesaro holding on the crossface was great. He's really got some impressive shine as a babyface.

Owens' flip dive was really impressive. I wish just a handful of non-"cruiserweights" did that kind of thing to make it stand out more. Heck, too many smaller guys do too many highspots as it is.

All three of these guys are just incredible. Damn.

Fine win. Owens and Cesaro hung with a former WM main eventer, so there's no reason to be upset at them losing.

I hope there's some kind of big pull-apart brawl between the Wyatts and Ambrose/Reigns at Summerslam.

Really nice video on Taker vs. Brock. I assume we won't see anything from their previous feud because American Badass Undertaker has more or less been retconned.

Next week and Summerslam are HYPE with the Brock/Taker stuff.

- Ambrose vs. Harper:
I missed seeing these two mix it up. Great stuff.

That was fine for setting up something more next Sunday.

It was natural to have Miz rag on the actor. It was still good to see it.

I know they kind of have to cover the old ground between Miz and Bryan (I think Miz was pretty instrumental in getting Bryan over with the more casual audience earlier in his WWE career), but it's good to tie it into the IC Title picture.

That was pretty good until Big Show came out. He sucks the air out of things. But it needed to be done.

Good to see that big Divas match at Summerslam. That's a big stage for the new names.

- Rusev vs. Henry:
Nice change of pace from Henry going down to the Accolade. I would love to have seen both men face off in their primes (which Rusev might not even be at yet).

Glad they didn't have Rusev put the Accolade on Lana. That would have gotten WWE more heat than the Bulgarian. That flag is GREAT, though.

It's just about time for Amell to do something. The anticipation has been building for some time tonight.

- Neville vs. Barrett:
Well, that was quick. This match might have been cut short due to something else going long. Hey, it's just to build to Summerslam, though.

Glad they did do something about Amell jumping the barricade instead of letting the fight continue.

Nice backstage segment to set up the match at Summerslam. It was nice to acknowledge Amell would need to sign papers to compete. I do kind of wish Stardust and Barrett were more involved in this part of things, maybe demanding Hunter to put Amell in the ring and Amell accepting.

"Randy Bore-ton" was a lame insult a long time ago. Save that for YouTube commenters, Sheamus.

- Rollins vs. Orton:
The RKO being portrayed as a kill move you don't want to be hit by is good in a day where everyone kicks out of multiple finishers.

Ditto for the Pedigree being something you really want to do everything you can to reverse.

That was a smart ending. If Cena isn't able to go at Summerslam, Rollins can defend in a triple threat against Orton and Sheamus with Sheamus playing the role of Rollins at Royal Rumble as far as not cashing in his briefcase.

More wrestling coming up.
