NXT and WWE live event results, Interviews wirth Russell/Bryan/Steamboat/HTM/Mysterio/Kofi/Titus, Cena's replacement in Australia, another Cena update, and Questions on The Patriot trademark, AJ Lee, women on the Network, Alicia Fox, and Owens' next opponent

Here are results from this weekend's NXT live event:
- That might be the first match we've seen from Daddio. It will be interesting to see some new names in the Divas division there.

- I enjoyed Sawyer Fulton with Angelo Dawkins, but we'll see what he can do with LeFort.

This weekend's WWE live events began with a ten-bell salute for Roddy Piper. There's no telling how different WWE would be without Piper's involvement.

Also on live events this weekend, Chris Jericho worked with Kevin Owens. That's a pretty cool clash. I hope we see that on a Network special at some point.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Lance Russell did a Q&A at the Mid-Atlantic Legends Fanfest:
- I'm a fan of the announcers not knowing every little thing before the match. Ideally they'd be able to react on the fly. Of course, that's part and parcel with them actually calling the match instead of whatever passes for commentary on Raw these days.

- Memphis sounds insane every time I hear about it, particularly how wrapped up fans got into it.

- They definitely need to be careful about how often an interviewer/announcer gets physically involved. That should be seen as a real despicable thing for heels to do.

Cesaro is replacing John Cena in Australia. I think that's a great choice, and Cena would almost definitely agree.

Daniel Bryan did another interview to promote his book. I'm glad it's been such a hit so far.

Ricky Steamboat talked at the Mid-Atlantic Legends Fanfest, too:
- Fun stories about booking committees.

- I love JR's lack of caring about the idiots chanting "this is awesome" for spotfests with big moves and no story. "Match of the year" at the last ROH show probably took the cake.

- JR's dead on about SLOWING DOWN to tell a story. Imagine if all the big parts of a Harry Potter book were crammed into 70 pages? It's weird the same people who hate a movie that's 90 minutes of mostly explosions and bad dialogue froth at the mouth for the same thing in wrestling.

- The Young Bucks are pretty visible targets of what's wrong with wrestling today. Sadly, they're just the tip of the iceberg. Sadly, it doesn't look like it's going to get better soon.

- Hilarious stuff with Piper. JR was once again dead on about the role of heels. Another reason the Young Bucks are terrible.

- Austin constantly wanting to improve was great. Nowadays it's "Well hey, the dirtsheets said I had a four star match! Obviously I just need more ridiculously overchoreographed spots and I'll be at five stars! I don't know why people keep saying I need to sell more in my matches... people buy my T-shirts all the time!"

The Honky Tonk Man shared memories at the Mid-Atlantic Legends Fanfest:
- Thank God someone FINALLY said what needed to be said about the Hogan situation. We can condemn the man's words without erasing his great accomplishments.

- The "ECW created hardcore" thing is pretty funny in how wrong it is. They were definitely influential, but their legacy has been exaggerated.

- I agree about indie shows wanting to go all out every night with long stuff. It's ridiculous.

- Nice line from Dick Clark.

- I think there's something to be said about people wanting to be TV stars instead of wrestlers in the old days.

Rey Mysterio talked about potentially returning to WWE and more. I strongly doubt we'll see him wrestle in WWE again, but I can see him joining the Hall of Fame.

John Cena has been spotted with a taped nose following his surgery Monday. I'm curious if WWE would put their most recognizable face in a protective mask of some sort.

Kofi Kingston talked about finally getting to be heel and more. This is definitely the most interesting he's been in years.

Titus O'Neil was profiled by USA Today for taking homeless people out to dinner two nights in a row. I'm glad PTP are great role models for the WWE audience.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Ready for a crazy swerve? The person who actually owns the trademark, according to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, is The Honky Tonk Man, listed under his legal name of Roy W. Farris. Wilkes was obviously the first person to portray the character, though, and could presumably go after Tom Brandi for impersonating him. That might be costly and time-consuming, though.

2. Definitely! She was legitimately close with Kaitlyn, as well, and likely others she worked with. It was Michelle Beadle and Management she had heat with.

3. They do. It's there alongside any other content that was uploaded at the same time. So, if you wanted to see Trish Stratus vs. Victoria vs. Jazz from WM19, it's available on the complete show.

4. I suspect we'll know more at Raw.

5. Jericho and Owens are facing off on live events. Jericho isn't booked for Summerslam (or any other TV or PPVs) at the moment, but I wouldn't be shocked to see those two compete on something televised/streamed on the Network) at some point.

More wrestling tomorrow.
