Potential gimmick changes for WWE acts, WWE live event notes, more on Piper, Austin's original podcast guest, UFC boss vs. wrestling fans, and Questions on four hours of Summerslam, ROH changing channels, Rusev vs. Lana, and Sunny content on the Network

Damien Sandow spoke in rhymes in a video with Xavier Woods, leading to speculation that could be his new gimmick post-Macho Mandow. Honestly, it might be time to send him to NXT for a few months to try something new. I'm a fan of his (especially his first main roster gimmick), but the guy's really spinning his tires right now.

NXT's Dana Brooke worked a tag match on the main roster live event this weekend, teaming with Cameron in a loss to Natalya and Emma. It's way too soon to bring her to the main roster. Even if they hadn't just brought three Divas up, Dana's just now showing potential in the ring. Why put her on that stage this early instead of giving her more time to develop into someone who's got all of her bases covered?

Ronda Rousey honored Roddy Piper in two interviews after her dominant UFC win. Piper gave her permission to use the "Rowdy" moniker in her MMA career.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
"Cowboy" Bob Orton remembered Roddy Piper at a recent indie show. Those two go back quite a ways.

UFC owner and massive cockbag Dana White insulted wrestling on Twitter before the latest UFC event, leading to a good number of wrestling personalities responded. White later noted he respects what wrestlers do and wrestlers themselves. That was still pretty lame of him. I'd like to think he has better things to do than argue with critics on Twitter, but apparently not. He should be a better representative of his brand than embodying the stereotype of meathead prick that's associated with UFC.

Hulk Hogan was originally set to be the next guest on Stone Cold's podcast, but that was nixed after his controversy. That could have been a really engaging conversation, too. This situation just gets worse.

Adam Rose and Brad Maddox are trying out a new gimmick on live events. Both men could use a "reboot." I'm willing to give the new team a shot.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. If it's treated as a really big deal worth investing four hours of time in, I can see it working out. It stands out by being such a long event. Is it overkill with so much wrestling on TV/the Network already? Probably. But they want it to get near the kind of business Mania does.

2. I don't know what kind of viewership the NJPW shows do, but it's worth checking into from both AXS and ROH's perspectives.

3. Yeah, they have to be REALLY careful about that kind of thing as a publicly-traded company. They could lose sponsors, etc. if a story of them doing an angle with men getting physically involved with women caught fire.

4. I guess because it was already "in the can." I'd be surprised if they did anything more with her in the future.

5. Yeah, it's better to not jump into that controversy any more than is necessary to cover the related story. This is a wrestling blog, not a race relations or political blog. I intend to stay out of that kind of thing as much as possible.

More wrestling tomorrow.
